The new msrp goes up 4k on a new model your older used model does not also go up 4k that aint how it works LOL

IM just playing the odds. if gas goes up to 10 a gallon is anyone really gonna want a 11 mile to the gallon car? I dont. I got mine for msrp and only had to wait a couple weeks so im not really vested in it. Ive already got a deal going and am being given 4k over what I bought it for so... IM not loosing. BMWs new M50 all electric you cant buy and have to wait a year for but..... I called 50 plus dealers until I found one that was wiling to sell me their demo. picking it up in a few days and it comes with zero charging costs for 2 years. It will be a fun cheap car until the emira gets here.
I’m not sure about fun, but I see where you are coming from. Sadly, I haven’t driven a fun BMW in a long time. I’ve had a lot of them and every one except my M4 CS was a disappointment to drive. I only drive the ZL1 about 5000-7500 miles a year so ten bucks a gallon would definitely suck, but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

I got to test drive one first they have a 3.2 0-60 and that instant torque. Like i said will be interesting and fun and zero maintenance or fuel costs until emira gets here plus the inside is pretty nice. outside yeah boring just another bmw looking thing. But i still got my bmw supra for gas powered fun.

You would think.. but it is a mixed bag when it comes to Camaro's.

For instance a super low mile (25 miles) 2012 ZL1 went up for sale a couple of weeks ago on BAT and the bid went only to 43K. This was a car that stickered for 60K new and is in New condition!

When ZL1's roll across Barret or Mecum.. very rarely do they get original price.

We all know how great the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE are.. but when it is a low sales volume selling car, that usually does not translate to a high collectible car.

Have fun with what you have and enjoy it. We are not promised tomorrow.

I would assume that most ZL1s are not heavy daily drivers. I only fill up about once a month. That said, we have a Tesla and Honda Civic to handle the daily driving duties.

If you can afford a ZL1, you can afford the gas. If you cannot afford the gas, then you likely cannot afford the ZL1.

Sounds profound, but the reality is that the boundary between can and cannot afford is shifting very quickly. Someone may have acquired a ZL1 in the past, but now their priorities may have changed as a result, or they may want to hedge their bets and sell the car.

I wouldn’t buy a used ZL1(unless it was cheap), knowing how they may have been treated. I want to put all the miles on the one I own.

I think about the cost of my camaro sometimes and really think, I could have pretty much just as much fun in an ss 1le or a car considerably cheaper. At the same time, unfortunately, i think maybe I want to buy something even more expensive (porsche)!?

when i bought my camaro i told myself though that this was going to be my long term gas fun car so i am really going to try to make it work, stop with the grass is greener... the manufacturers do a good job though of coming up with a better car every few years but it is difficult to justify dropping serious money every 5-7 years on a toy.

There is a difference between being able to afford something and the fact that you should spend that much on it. Rich people aren't rich because they buy everything they "can afford". There comes a point where even though you can afford something you need to stop and ask should I just piss money away on it. Yes the car is fast and awesome and yes it drinks fuel and yes most people accept that. But with current gas prices and a tank costing 100 bucks just to drive the car for 1 day a week and basically pissing away 400 bucks a month on gas to drive the car 4 times is actually really irresponsible financially and has nothing to do with affording it. Now dont get me wrong Im right there with fascial irresponsibility LOL I bought one too.

It does though, because no one is going to sell their used model for the same price prior to this price change knowing you can't go buy a new one without paying more. It absolutely drives up used car values.

$80k? Everyone was just complaining about the $3700 increase.
