Thanks. I cant really tell a difference but do you know how big a difference they are between the two calipers? I dont see it being a significant difference but when you're talking about clearance in mm then yeah.

Calipers may or may not be the same, but the rotors are definitely different and larger..

Rear calipers are standard J6H. Fronts J6H with BCD are definitely larger. I’ll have one on my list this afternoon or in the morning and will test fit a 18” and take pics of the larger caliper vs. a regular J6H front. It’s around 4mm larger to the outer radius and body length. I only have 3.5mm clearance to a regular J6H with SM10 18x11+7.

Thanks. I dont have the wheels yet. These are just the initial "samples" that APEX got for the shoot. They didn't even get in the athracite or black in yet when they did mine. They dont drop for pre-order group buy until early February.

I do like this brushed clear but the only thing is in certain sunlight and angles it could look chrome which i dont like. Athracite to me doesn't contrast well with HBM and satin black is like the oem wheels. Difficult to see all the details and concavity with the black wheels. Only thing i really like about the brushed clear finish is you can see all the details of the spokes/wheel. If they only made a finish like double dark tint or brushed black tint that would be the choice for me. Since APEX wheels are painted and not powder coated, I'll probably get the brushed clear and have a body shop spray a tinted black clear over it to get the finish i want.

Really like the look of these and was surprised I liked the clear finish. Would prefer a color that's as close to oem as possible, not sure how far the athracite is off.
Also didn't realize these were painted as I think I'd rather a powdercoated finsh.

Athracite is nice too but in certain lighting it just looks dark gray or sometimes brown. Or maybe its just my eyes LOL!

So if you google paint vs powdercoating, there have been a long controversial issue between the two when it comes to forged wheels because of the baking process being at or over 400 degrees. Many have said no issues powdercoating others have said it weakens the aluminum

The finish i would really like to get is brushed black tint like this from Vossen or BCForged but these are powder coat finishes.

Like I thought, those with the copper free brakes on a SS or ZL1 (California, Washington for 2022 and up, plus any other state where you add it optionally) - the 18" won't work - unless you're okay with 0.5mm of clearance before any runout. Once again, this was a 18x11+7 SM-10, and not one of the new forged versions. However, Apex says the clearance should be the same.

The BCD / J6H front caliper is about 6mm longer up down in car position and about 3mm closer to the barrel also above the cross-bolt. I let Cory at Apex know. I have multiple sets of Apex wheels in 18", so, this is for FYI, not as a negative on Apex.
