I asked my salesman to ask his rep if it was ANY possibility to install a leather steering wheel, shift knob and boot in place of the alcantara. I also wanted to know if I could get the 1LE wheels, trunk lid and blade spoiler in place of the ZL1 wheels, trunk lid and spoiler...I plan to sell these ZL1 items upon delivery of the car and install the stuff I want, but thought maybe I would ask to see if I could just get the stuff I wanted directly from GM. I’m not asking for anything custom, just different parts that already exist. I would even pay more to have them factory installed. Seems like it should be an option when you spend $65k on a car. Thanks for your time...
Nope... can't do any of that. But you can always do it after you get the car and sell the take-offs.

That's what we all do here on the forum. Mod our cars the way we want them. Everyone has different tastes and personalizes to make it their own.

Thanks for the info. I figured that was the case. Just seems stupid to limit options. The parts already exist and everything is a clean swap. Well if anyone is looking for an alcantara steering wheel, boot and shift knob, ZL1 wheels and a ZL1 truck w/spoiler in about 2 months, let me know..haha...

It's all about streamlining the production process, more options mean many more combinations that then leads to more prep time and higher probability of assembly errors

hello everyone,
Anyone with knowledge of supplier pricing such as college grade purchasing program pricing please share. How does this work let’s say on a $45890 MSRP 2021 1SS1LE. for example Toyota and Ford offer college grade incentives which can be on top of any dealer discount. According to my research, looks like GM supplier program is a discount off MSRP not an incentive. Does a dealer get back the supplier discount that he offers ? I know dealers get back incentives/ cash back offers so it’s not coming out of their profits. How does GM supplier discount or college grade discount work ?

Thanks for your responses.

hello everyone,

Please help understand if employee discount incentives ( on 2021 SS 1LE is showing around $3400 ) is similar to $1000 cash back which expired in Nov ? if it is then it would be over and above any dealer discount, or supplier discount like college graduate discount? can anyone with dealer knowledge shed some light on this subject. Thanks !!
