The tranny will handle that the axles won't. Same for the new mustang. The older 5.0 cars had an 8.8 solid axle rear end that was pretty strong even stock.

If you launch off the limiter with a manual and slicks and dead hook good luck. It wouldn't take that for long if it all. Would need upgraded axles at minimum and probably driveshaft too

My car is pretty loud, hard to find somewhere to use the competition launch more than on6cr without attracting a lot of unwanted attention :/

The launch control trick isn't nearly as hard on the car as a 4000 rpm clutch drop though. IMO anybody drag racing these cars a lot should do an axle upgrade. Especially since the new 6th gen ZL1 axles (which are much stronger) can be had for under $500 and aren't that hard to swap out. My car won't see much drag strip action, but will see lots of autocross action, so I will be doing it just for the piece of mind...

SS 1LE you know I agree with you on axles!! My first set was under warranty but will be getting the other part numbers you sent me next time. As far as launch I don't use it at all anymore. I go into track mode rev to about 2000RPM let the clutch out and mash the pedal to the floor. That got me my 11.96 on Michelin Cup 2's. Haven't tried the same with DR's yet my car is in storage now....

It might be ignorance but it still doesn't sound like a good idea to be launching at 4k. I do just fine going from 2 and think I'll stick to that

What makes you think I didn't read it?
My 0-60 times confirm what you said and even if I could shave .1 launching at 4k, I'll stick with my current technique.
