I love the STs but they are overpriced. If you can get one in the lower 20's then that's a great deal. I've seen higher 20s and no manuals :(

Then it wasn't an ST. STs only come with manuals. No automatics!

The ST is nice, I drove one just recently. Why they did not bring the 3 door here is beyond any understanding. Fast 3 dr hatches are in need of a comeback. I thought Suzuki or Ford with a Fiesta or the Focus would bring something like that here.

Nice video.

Have a msg into my salesman to let me know if either of the ST's they have are still there & what range my MKX would be worth on trade. Still up in the air but it's worth talking about.

Since this would be a DD do you think I could get some Focus 16" wheels & put snow tires on for the winter months? Will they fit (or 17")? We have the wife's AWD Flex for bad snow but I would still need a DD when the weather is less than perfect.

Thanks!

Yes, there are guys running the 16" steel focus wheels for their snow tires...

Perfect. Thanks - I was hoping 16" steel wheels would fit. Be the cheapest and best route for snow. Let you know if it comes to be.

Hey, Scrming. What's the 1/4 mile et and mph for the ST? Looks like a fun car in the twistys but wasn't sure about the 1/4. Thanks.

Car is an absolute blast in the twisties! That's where the car really shines!

In the 1/4 mile, it's mid to upper 14's. While the ST has plenty of low end grunt the tiny turbo does run out of steam pretty quickly! ARGH!! Bolt-on guys that know how to launch a wrong wheel drive car are running around 13.7. I haven't figure out how not to spin through 1st and 2nd, so I'm stuck in the low 14's with a trap speed of 101 to 103 MPH.

Now... there is a company working on a bolt-in turbo option... they have gone 12.9 in testing...

But while I do enjoy the drag strip, the ST is really more at home in the corners!

if you're considering an ST, don't forget to drive a MazdaSpeed3. Both will put you back in your seat. 3's come super loaded at about 26k... worth a spin.

I personally think Mazda went the wrong direction with the exterior looks for the 3 a few years back. Not a fan of the exterior at all. Something makes me think that the Cheshire Cat is looking at me.

Not sure the Ford will happen right now anyway. So far dealer isn't really interested in talking - hard to get returned calls after our initial discussion. I'm not one to act all ex-girlfriend stalker like & call more than a few times to get info. Not in a hurry so I'll wait and see.

That sucks... I've tried to by my last two Fords from the local dealership. Sales guy was great, get x-plan so no haggling of pricing... but they have low balled me on my trade-ins, which is not my sales guys fault... So I've walked... ended up buying from the dealership next town over... needless to say won't even bother with the local dealership next time...

ok... btw... my completely over the top, personal SEMA build... LOL!!!
