I take it you aren't a big road course or autocrosser. The data it pulls in and syncs along with the video is huge, and far better than a $15 phone app's integration. I'm able to watch my runs with data overlaid in grid.

If you're into Performance Driving, the Performance Driving Recorder is a fantastic option.

If you're a hard parker, or a 1/4 mile racer, I agree that there are other places to spend your money.

Mine came with PDR and I am very glad it did as its function on a road course is excellent.

Apparently, to people like Battleszone580, we're being unreasonable for refusing to pay a 600% markup on a mass produced piece of vinyl. If that's not a rip off, I don't know what is. No wonder sales people have such a bad reputation.

Your missing the data recording and analysis via the Cosworth toolbox on your laptop. Study that when you get home, lot of capability to improve your driving (which I need) an telemetry on your car which is valuable. Also watch the overhead racing lines as you compare laps.

I'm not questioning the benefits of data logging or the video overlay. I'm questioning the premium GM is charging for what is not new or unique technology.

Agree, but what GM provides which none of these do is an integrated camera. And an app provider ain't gonna gift you a free $900 phone. Hence GM price for PDR is not that outlandish. But clearly it is just an option and we are free to pick it or not. Peace
