1LE - Hood Wrap Protection

So after spending roughly $100 on different products & treatments to try & remove the spots on my hood, I contacted the dealer & they are going to re-wrap it under warranty. Now my question is whether or not I should wrap it in the 3M 1080 Satin Black that matches the spoiler & mirrors & doesn't have a spotting issue, or if anyone knows of something I can put on the matte wrap that will 100% prevent this from happening again. Any suggestions or pictures would be appreciated.

Once you get the new wrap, have it ceramic coated. Once coated, the hood no longer picks up anything that touches it.

I had mine ceramic coated back in May of this year. I've washed the car several times, and so far so good. Everything just wipes off with little effort. The hood does look kind of like it's been wrapped in leather now, with the sheen the ceramic coating adds. But it doesn't bother me.

Roughly how much was it for the hood to be ceramic coated?

Have them give you the new one on a roll and put it away in the closet. Best protection ever.

The hood, mirrors, splitter and rear spoiler are all different blacks. If you cover them all with Xpel Stealth, besides protecting them from bug and stone hits, the colors and surfaces will all match perfectly (and be extremely easy to maintain).

The OEM matte wrap on the hood, whether it’s waxed, ceramic-coated or blessed by a guru from a mountaintop offers no protection and will chip and mark just like a painted surface. It needs a PPF.

I got all the important parts cover with PPF except the hood because it had the hash mark installed and it was going to be an additional $500. Now after 4000 miles and 8 track days the hood wrap is pretty beat up. Looking at a new wrap and covering with Expel stealth which will be $800. They rest of the car that has ppf is in good shape.

Had terrible water spots on mine last week. Used Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte and all was well. Will NEVER use anything else on my hood wrap
