The ZL1 is a better choice for most people. Does that Z/28 have AC? They took weight savings to an extreme so even the radio reminds you of a taxi cab. And the old school electronics. And check out the price of new brakes and tires. The current 1LE is much more well equipped and just about as fast on any track, although the Z/28 would win a drag race. Now if they would have dropped the LS7 into a 5th gen 1LE I would own one and not have a CA6 SS.

Take the 40-50k, give it to a stock broker to invest it for you. I bet you have way more money in the 30 years than the possibly value increase over the years. I understand your not seriously going to do it. I'm just sayin

That's a well known and understood fact but misses the point of the hobby and the enjoyment of ownership to some.

At the right dealer rotors can be had for around $1400, think the pads are around $450.

I agree with the poster that says the 1LE is a better option. The track times are similar, and it has the updated interior. And is a few grand cheaper. That Z28 is just plain sick though, with those breaks, tires, etc. Its built the way a camaro used to be in the 60's - RAW and MEAN. Last edited by Hawk Fan; 03-24-2017 at 02:31 PM. |

I 2nd this. I've seen brand new untitled cars for $50K even and used cars in the $42K-$45K range. My guess is an offer of $45K would buy it.

The Dealer wants about $46k for this Z/28 that I pass by everyday to work. I doubt they'll even get that out of it.

Besides that I have had no issues with street driving unless you consider all the attention the car brings with it as a negative. The positives far outweigh the negatives from my perspective! Hope you are considering buying one as you will not regret it unless you really don't want visceral moments.

The engine alone is worth $30k. I would love to have the LS7 in a gen6.
