Pricing released for Mustang GT-500

Here you go. The base price will be $73,995.00. Let the speculation begin on how much dealer mark up there will be.

Well Dan, I would think they will have a markup of $20,000 and especially if the car has the only option, a carbon fiber package, that runs up the price even more!

I hope the Mustang loyal boycotts the dealers that hold the car hostage , i know it hurt sales of the GT350 .

GT 350R local here had a $20K "market adjustment" so I'd expect similar. Wonder if they get it or how much of it.

$73,995 GT500
$18,500 to the price and will add parts like 20-inch carbon wheels, adjustable strut-top mounts, adjustable rear wing, thick-bolstered Recaro seats, rear-seat delete, and front splitter wickers.
$3,000 The Technology Package will include a better stereo, blind-spot monitoring, mirrors with memory positions, power driver seats, and puddle lamps showing a snake on the ground.
$1,500 Handling Package will pack a Gurney flap and splitter Specifying all of these packages takes the GT500's price to $96,995.

You can add another $20,000 plus for limited availability. My buddy paid $10,000 limited availability added on his 2018 GT350R and he only got that because he had a history with that dealership. Most of the dealers wanted $20,000 to $30,000 over window. I wouldn’t be surprised to see as much as $40,000 added to the window on the west coast on the GT500

It serves them right. They sat up here for years trying to justify the markups on the GT350(R) by saying that it was worth the money and that people felt it was it is worth that much then we'll start the GT500 off where the markups had the GT350". ANd so now the GT500 is $74K base and 90K CF. So they are getting what they deserve. Since the Shelby was soo good that people are willing to pay more and the ZL1 had to be offered at huge discounts to get them to sell, I'm glad I got my heavily discounted ZL1. And it's funny to see that the only thing from Ford that can beat it costs $20K more.

There are plenty of folks with too much money and not enough sense around here too.

Sarasota Ford has a GT350R in stock and is asking $10k ADM over sticker.

They were a big ADM pirate back in the day when the 2002 T-bird came out... asking $20k+ over sticker back then. I might pop down there today in The Mistress to ask about ordering a 500 just to see how high they're willing to go with ADM. My guess is that they'll be asking at least $50k over for the 500.

All I can hope for is that it backfires for Ford, Ford needs a little set back like Camaro did with the crazy 75k Z28 that never sold well. I also am waiting to see the engine HP and TQ specs, is the car gonna be high strung and peaky. Are they going to use a ton of gear to amplify possible weak torque in the lower RPM range creating a need to be at higher RPM on the street . Torque at low RPM is what makes everyday street driving dynamics so important. Thats why a SS Camaro is so much better to drive everyday on the street versus the GT350.

I'm 9th on the waiting list and it will be sticker+$25k at least, which was their asking price for GT350s last year. I won't know the exact ADM until they go through the 8 above me... and at least two of them are Longboat Key billionaires. I'll probably get the email in a couple weeks.

It won't backfire for them because they already have people willing to pay markups on the CF version. If anything, the next GT50 will be even more expensive to the point where MSRP will be well into the $100K range. And it'll still be compared to (and ultimately lose to) our budget ZL1s that we get with huge discounts, lol!!
