I personally wouldn't get run-flats. The extra cost and harsher ride just aren't worth it to me. I always have at least one spare set of wheels/tires, so if I'm really in a pickle, someone could bring me those. Also, I think I've already used up my tire bad luck for a while when this happened on my last car. Definitely thought something major had broken on the car. I was quite relieved when it was just something in the tire.

I liked my Runflats. I would have gotten another set if they came in All Season.

For the street I have the Conti ECS and the MS spare tire only option. I carry what I need to change it.

I’m going RFT on 2017 ZL1...
... but it seems impossible to find the stock sizes in RFT. I found the attached close match which should be OK, 285-35-20 and 315-35-20. Stock is 285-30-20 and 305-30-20.
I have about estimated 5k left on my current OEM Goodyear Eagle Supercar tires at 15k on the odometer now. I like visiting some of the National Parks out West here. No way I want to get stuck with a flat in the middle of nowhere Nevada or Idaho. I went RFT on my 2008 M3, and my 2012 AMG C63. RFTs ride like rocks for sure and are expensive. But I’ve had so many screws and nails repaired over the years. BTW, they say “don’t plug RFTs”, but that’s poppycock, unless the screw is in your sidewall, it is fine, $20 fix vs $400 fix. |

I hate run flats, noisey and ride hard. I had BFG on but now have Michelin AS3+ and love them.

I have the Goodyear Super Car 3 tires. They are run flats. 285 and 305. They seem fine to me. I don't think they are noisy or hard; I mean compared to what...
If you have a flat tire and don't have run flats, you might be wishing your did when you see that damaged aluminum wheel and see what that costs to repair or purchase new.

Just to update the post here, Costco can custom order tire sizes from their distributors (in this case Michelin) not shown on their website.
