Need the forum to be a judge on a transaction gone sideways

So, Club2000 sold his wheels to me on the forum. And then eventually backed out of the deal, calling me dishonest, shit and other abusive words. Instead of putting my point of view on the transaction, I am posting the full conversation via txt and for the forum to be the judge and provide feedback. I am not doing so in spite, but more in shock. Cant really understand how we went from being reasonable people to this. Anyways – please judge. Chub2000 believes that I screwed him. Wheels and my money are both with Club2000 as of now and he is not willing to entertain any conversation on this. Update - he just refunded me the money, but continues to say - that I screwed up.

Pay-Pal, LOL!

Ya done screwed the pooch. You gave him the money via F&F, to avoid the fees, now when you want to file a dispute you have to explain you don’t really know the guy.

Aside from him returning your money willfully, you’re probably screwed.

Pay-Pal has some pretty aggressive protections for buyers, but that goes out the window when they are frauded out of their cut.

Good luck.

I believe that he is totally wrong. People usually use the “give to friends/ family” option because the money goes directly to the seller without shipping confirmation. Most people on the forum trust each other. He should have researched the price on the wheels. That’s his problem, not yours. He’s using the hold up as an excuse to make up for the fact that he screwed up on the price

Ive never seen a F&F transaction get a hold on it but I'm an infrequent user of PayPal to see a whole lot but I've used it repeatedly and not had that. Only time I've seen a hold was having not used the F&F/gift option.

I see why he's pissed. I think he got tired of playing the back and forth with you, sorry, but I don't do this with people. it's 3-5 messages, either you're buying and picking up or I ghost you. I get it if he got tired of the all the messages then he saw the "hold" and said to hell with it.

I'd take it as a straighten yourself out to how you want to do and handle your business and deal with people straight away. Ive played this with people too much, my time is too valuable and I won't sell to people that play 20 questions and 20 messages.

I don't think the screenshots and griping in public is helpful.

he argued with me about the price i paid for my zl1 1le when he over paid for his back in 2018 so it sounds like he doesn't do transactions very well on either end.

Yeah, sounds like buyer wanted funds to be released before buyer picked up the goods.

Seller is probably sore listed parts for too low of price. It's your job to know market before you agree to a price.. or get labeled a douche bag.

I actually gave him the option of just saying “I am sorry I screwed up on the price, it will be x$”. I would have been fine with that. Using PayPal hold to dishonor the transaction is just slimy.

You're both wrong, for different reasons. The fact that you posted personal information about him in this public forum, including his home address, could put you at a liability risk. And this isn't something to be debated in public by either of you (IMHO).

We can all be judges but nothing anyone will say is going to change the results of what happened.

I had his consent to post publicly and secondly others need to know about his behavior so I don’t regret posting it
