Big Al NEVER had ANY intention of putting the LT5 in his Camaro. I assure you. Furthermore, the Corvette team had a goal to meet with the LT5/ZR1 and they did so. That car was never going to be a big seller and they knew it.

All said the current model Camaro is a great car, imo. I plan to order a brand new ZL1 the last year they are made. C8’s are worlds and above better cars than any C6 or C7. Hell any previous Corvette ever made. That’s just in Z51/LT2 trim. Still would rather have a 6th Gen Camaro though.

As far as ordering that last model ZL1 I get it since it's the end of the road but....
Unless GM did something drastic say a special edition like an LT5 or something to make it unique as the ZR1 which we all know they're not I'd be with you. I'm sure they'll do something but it'll be more on the cosmetic.
I'm happy with what I have.

Usually last year models are more desirable as far as resale goes simply because some of a cars quirks are fixed by then. A knowledgeable buyer would try to seek out a ZL1 without the oil pump issues as well.

So am I. A 50th Anniversary ZL1 with manual transmission might one day have some extra value my grands kids can enjoy.

The great irony of life - most owners are too old to drive these cars as intended or on a track

Will this be the second, third, or forth time that Chevy mothballed the Camaro only to “reintroduce it”?

Uh, it was only cancelled once. 2002 was the last year of the 4th Gen. 5th came out as a 2010 model year. So, second.

Please define "as intended" and "too old".

Why even bother? The youngster clearly needs/wants attention.

Well, well, well. The escalade LT4 blackwing gets a 2.65L blower.

The engine is closely related to the engine from the CT5-V Blackwing's engine, but with a few key upgrades. It has a bigger 2.65-liter supercharger, plus it has a forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, an aluminum head and titanium valves. It's also hand-assembled in Bowling Green, Ky., like the CT5-V Blackwing's engine, and a little sports car by the name of Corvette.

If I had $150K to blow (plus another $50K for service over time, haha), I swear I'd buy this thing. It sounds almost like a Camaro and it has some nice tech, too.
