2017 Camaro SS Door panel lights

I just bought a 2017 Camaro SS and it has these lights that come on , on the door panel ,I was idling setting up my settings and they came on, nice looking but what are they for ?? It looked like blue then faded to another color, but I can not figure out what they are for other than they look nice. ???
Thanks for the help

Accent lighting, you can change the colors in the infotainment unit.

Congratulations on your car, Sir, and Happy New Year to you as well
Indeed these lights are there just for ambience, they light up the interior quite nicely at night. You can also install an extra footwell lighting kit from GM that will use the same colors and make things a bit even better, if you're so inclined.

Unless you change their settings as supersportss indicate dabove, they are linked to the drive mode by default, so they're red when in sport mode, blue in tour mode, orange in track mode and arctic blue in snow/ice mode. When you enter the car, they are always blue, then fade into the selected color once you turn on the car or start the engine; vice versa when exiting this street weapon.

Isn't yours on some hot new infotainment 3.0 stuff, though? We're talking good old pre-refresh 2.5 MyLink here.

Thanks to you all for the comments, helps a lot. I sold my 55 Chevy 575 HP Roller Motor
4 /Speed, all it had was a head light switch and a key, LOL
You all have a great 2021 and live life to the fullest , I spent all of 2019 at home or in Hospital from cancer, the Doc bought me another 3-4 years so I,m going to play, LOL

Ah, that's both sad and good news. Enjoy your purchase to the fullest, Old Grunt, you've earned it many times over. Thank you for your service

We are here to help with any questions you might have, these newfangled cars are quite a bit more complex now.
