Nissan Z Proto

Well,

I must say that I've always liked the 370Z. I even almost got one instead of the Camaro.

I always thought the car aged well despite it being over 10 years old.

I recently saw the news about the Nissan Z Proto that will be replacing the 370Z... My first thought was "omg this thing is ugly as hell!!"

Looks like a cheap Chinese copy of the car. The front end is just all messed up and the headlights, looks crap. The back ends looks like a cheap mustang (double fail!).

Don't know what you think but to me, it's like a step backwards.

I still like the early 90s 300Z better than these new ones.

I traded my '12 2SS/RS auto for a '14 370Z sport. I loved the car but for a long legged, long armed 250 lb guy, the interior ergonomics were horrible. Traded it for my current hotrod a year later.

It looks really odd, at least to my eye. I wonder if it'll have both the 300 and 400hp TT-3.0L v6s from the Q60, or just one?

I like the z32 inspired taillights but not the rest of it. Maybe it'll be better in person!

From the profile it looks like the back of an Audi A7, the Roof of the 370z and the front of a Fiat.

I like it overall. Good looking car.
It just needs some fog lights or something below the headlights.

I'm not a fan at all, it looks ugly from the front and rear. The side profile is good, but that is it.

Not my cup of tea.

What I would really love to see (although not a Nissan) is a modern version of the last gen. RX-7 from Mazda. Now that is a beautiful car and would look great modernized.

I think the Nissan Z Proto needs a little more sculpture to it. The body panels are a little too flat with not that much depth to them. I do like the side profile though because it reminds me of the 1st and 2nd gen Z's.

Unfortunately, I never liked the 3rd gen 300ZX or the 350Z. They looked like sow bugs. The Proto Z brings back that classic long-hood short-rear deck profile that looked so timeless on the early Z's. I just hope they give it the performance to compete with the Camaro and Mustang.
