It did come with instructions and I followed them to a T. When they send me the base tune I'll be sure to try closing the door. Apparently BNR is experiencing "Higher than normal ticket volume" and are asking for 5-7 business days for initial tunes and log reviews so might not be til next week before anymore updates.

Hopefully it will turn around before that. A basic canned time still will be very noticable. Like I said. It's hard to screw up....but knowing from a year's worth (11k miles) of personally tuning my own car, it will be worth the while to get them to do finish tweaks. Hopefully it will go well.

I wasn't going there. But ... Sometimes it's best to not go lowest dollar so that you can avoid the bargin basement crowds. The hptuners way is an investment.

Agreed 100%, I recall this was the same problem with Trifecta back in the day and they ended up abandoning the V6 guys up a creek with proprietary software locked on their cars for years. This is the reason I warn people about these email tuners some are legit businesses with good people and owners others are control freaks with no care for you or your car just your money. The only way I've found they listen is when you take things to their customer base on social media.

I can only agree with both of you on this, Trifecta was so unfriendly to me back when I had a V6 and was seriously considering a tune that I decided not to risk it. And this was pre-sales... no surprise if they are even less supportive once they have your money.

With the V8 I went straight to Ted Jannetty and hptuners and never looked back. The man is not cheap, but in this case (as well) you get what you pay for.

Ted is a really nice guy I had the privilege of meeting him at CF7.

Received my base tune this morning at 2am (Somebody's working a graveyard shift at BNR?). Loaded the tune this afternoon and went for a test drive. WOW what a change! Pulls much harder now, so much that my sticky summer tires spin a bit even at 40 mph when I floor it although the roads were a bit wet so I'll get a better idea tomorrow when it dries up. I'll also do some data logging tomorrow and I think I'll see if he can turn the throttle response up a bit when I send him the data log.

Yup! Nice. Enjoy. I would love to see some power numbers. Throttle response is hugely improved by .... Giving away secrets. Lol. We're getting good dense air now and power will fade a bit as summer comes on. If you get a dyno makes sure it's sae corrected. But good to hear another success story anyways.

Sent datalog Saturday afternoon, awaiting response from BNR. While I'm driving I noticed I get wheel spin triggering traction control whenever I floor it even at 70+ mph however it's fine if I gradually press the pedal down all the way. Anyone else get this after tuning? As for the dyno numbers wook I plan on doing that later this summer as I want to get flex fuel kit/tune first but I'll be sure to post it here.

I have to say it sounds like an issue in the tcm tune. sounds like its reporting an over tq condition, so some table wasn't calibrated in the tcm. Cooper would be able to take a look but I haven't seen him on here for a while. they say the A8 tcm is a challenge to tune. or the tcm didn't take the updated calibration for some reason.

I just switched over to BNR about the same time you did(even got my tune the same night at 3am lol) but i have noticed this and trifecta did the same thing. Knowing that it may be a calibration issue i'll definitely bring it up.

With all the complicated nuances of properly tuning this platform I'm amazed how many still rely on email tuners. Nothing will ever beat a real time dyno and road tune where the tuner can hear and feel your cars quirks first hand.
