To me it sounds more like a push for advertisement than actual specs.
Yeah it's just confusing to me because the OP is worded like they have teamed up with Chevrolet to test new products. I think that's because that is what it actually says.... so I'm really just trying to get some clarity here as I doubt GM is about to release products over a year ago that they're just getting around to testing today?

I've heard yes, no or it shortens the life of the warranty. Maybe you can get a definitive answer for us(me).
I have gotten the same see-through answer myself. They say installing "some" of the drag racing parts "may" result in a warranty issue. However, they also say that unless noted, it will retain the factory warranty. I feel like they are trying to leave it up to the dealer that you go through...

They also state that you are to install products under the supervision of a GM service expert.

The drag racing part is the ZL1 1LE solid rear cradle bushing kit, at least according to the current catalog. I did this recently and TBH, it should be listed in the handling section, not the drag section.

It does WAY more for the sideways sway the rear-end has in transition maneuvers and quick lane changes than it does in the accel/decel motions.

We have not teamed up with them. Someone we know has. That is what I said lol. We get the enjoyment of doing all the dyno pulls and seeing first hand what happens. We have tested tons of things on the dyno, but never for GM themselves. I just thought it was a pretty cool event that I wanted to share.

I don't know of many people that think to use Chevrolet Performance for the aftermarket parts they want. I think that is the main goal, to get into that conversation.

By having a test car that they can take around to NHRA races, they will be able to show off what the car can do with simple bolt on parts. I'm sure it won't be long before we see some kind of Chevrolet Performance cam kit or head package.

I would go for a mild head/cam package if offered by GM and retained warranty.

Most people would. I hope that they get to the point they offer that sort of thing.

Thanks Matt.

This project is the result of a conversation that I had with Jamie Meyer at the PRI show two years ago. At that time, I asked if I could get hold of these parts and give feedback. He told me to come up with a proposal. The thread that I have on here is the beginning of something that will be very cool.

The goal of the program is to get new Camaros to the drag strip. I will be installing and testing the parts and sharing what I find. That will include dyno charts and time slips. Once the car is complete we will take it on a tour and beat the snot out it to see how well the parts hold up.

+1.

Highly unlikely, but we can dream.

While GM is in there ask them about denying a warranty because we are running parts that did not cause a problem or the problem.
