Painted my chipping front SS grille badge
The paint on my SS badge on the grille was chipping. When I was searching how to remove the front SS emblem, I couldn't find any good pictures of the back of the badge and the tray it adheres to, so I made this thread.
I removed the badge using extra strong fishing line. The badge has 2 alignment pins but fishing line will still dislodge the adhesive tape enough to remove the badge without breaking the pins. I cleaned the badge well, removed the old adhesive and put new 3M double sided molding tape on. I used DrColorchip mosaic black metallic touch up paint and some micro disposable applicators as brushes. It worked great. I used a little lacquer thinner on an applicator to clean up paint off the frame. I reinstalled the badge and now it matches the paint!
