Magnuson tune vs Dyno tune

Hello everyone! I recently installed my Maggie and love it! The car is my daily driver and it's an M6. I'm pleased with the supplied tune from Magnuson. I do want to dyno the car to see what it really puts down.

Has anyone compared the supplied Magnuson tune with a custom dyno tune? If so what was the result? I know Magnuson claims 550rwhp with their tune.. not sure which type of dyno they use.. I think it's a Mustang Dyno. I know retuning it voids Magnusons supplied warranty.

I'm in the same exact boat. I have an appointment next weds on a dyno tune to see what it can do. I also have a roto fab CAI that needs to be adjusted for that and 93 octane. I know Ted Jannity can remote tune it since they already give SCT from Maggie. I was going to go that route but since I wanted to see what it can do on a dyno, I ended up going this way.

I live in california.... we can only get 91 octane. Let me know how it goes!

I would go to someone who has a dyno. Get some base line runs, you can tweak it with hp tuners with a good tuner at the shop. You may see a pretty big difference as I did, the can tune is pretty conservative but still make pretty good hp/torque. There is more in there and that's all I can say.

Oneredry, this way? did you have the Jennette tune or custom tune? Maybe I missed it cause I'm old.

My 93 tune is basically all the same as the canned tune, however we changed the power enrich and made 544/559 and went 10.91 on the very first pass down the track and went as quick as 10.82, my highest mph is 129.88. It makes some great hp as you can see with the mph. I have a 109 tune also. I just installed AEM meth kit but haven't been to the track yet, but should go much quicker with the 109 and methanol which allows me to run about 5 degrees more timing.

No. I am currently still running the Maggie tune. My goal was to give that happy medium point, not to have it run rich (conservative like it is now) and not hog wild with crazy HP. I want mine to be reliable.
I contacted Ted to see what it would involved with "remote tuning" and he sent me a sheet on what I needed to do, and seemed a lot to do and to much involved for me. Plus I still would not know my HP rating. In the end, I wanted to see what the numbers would prove anyway. and from what others are saying, you really want a dyno tune to dial it in the way you want. So I ended up going that route. My appointment is on 6.7.17. I ended up taking a vacation day.

Thanks for getting me straight on that. I've had no issues and car runs awesome. Hard to believe I've just added the Maggie, Rotofab and slicks/skinnies and runs 10.80s at almost 130, just killer and I drive it at least 2-3 days a weeks. I probably have about 2000 miles on it since the install and about 30 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile passes.

that's awesome! I only have 2800 miles on my car, maybe 150 miles worth since the Maggie install. I don't drive it much, it has to be nice outside. Cleaning cars gets out of hand. and have 3 cars to keep clean.

Ohh man i'm the opposite! I put mine on last month and already have 1500 miles on it. I can't drive it enough. Excited to see what you put down and whether you'll retune it.

ok. yeah I don't really want to thread jack, but I'll post something before and after. More than likely I'll have it re-tuned to better suit.
