2023 Non Bose audio conundrum
2023 LT1 Non Bose Audio Question: My installer put in 6 3/4" components in the doors and rear sides with a 12" sub in the trunk via oem wire harness thru a Rockford signal processor and then thru an Alpine amp.
Problem: The OEM dash tweeters still play (much louder than before) and my blinkers are loud as hell. How the heck did the dash tweeters get into the equation being amplified when he took the LF,LR RF and RR speaker leads right from the output harness... which is located not behind the radio... but under the glove box panel on the passenger side? Leave them in or will they blow? The actually sound nice with the aftermarket tweeters mounted on the door panels. |

Sounds like you need to ask your installer that question! But my guess is that if he stole the signal from factory tweeter, it also contains the chimes and blinker, so you are getting your factory tweeter plus the amplified aftermarket tweeter too. Not sure how else you can do it though.

The factory dash mid is powered from the same wiring as the door speaker. It actually makes sense to keep it powered but I would want it controlled separately (i.e. dedicated wiring ran to it so you can have independent gain and crossovers.
In order to keep the chimes quiet you need to reduce gains so you are using most of the head unit volume range.
