My wife bought a manual when she was 18. She called me to drive it home from the dealership because she didn't know how to drive it...lol..We both agree that this car be a manual so I know she will drive it. I hope she likes it so much we order another one for her.

My wife refuses to learn to drive stick. I actually really want her to learn so she can drive the SS around because, with three kids, I do fear the day she puts her foot down on the "impractical" car. If she can at least drive it when needed it gives a little bit more of a practical side to the car and she won't see it so much as a "toy for dad".

I mean, it is a toy for dad, but if it's a toy she can use as well, that would help.

My wife and I went out for the first time in my SS Fifty the day after I got it. She knew I'd gotten it and asked if I'd like to come show it to her. Even let her drive it.

The rest is history.

My wife drives a Silverado (her choice). I sold my Tahoe when I bought the new Camaro. So her truck is my only tow vehicle when I need to haul stuff in the trailer. Funny how it never bothers her that we "have to" trade cars LOL

I love the way other people snitch on her when she lays into it. Like they don't think that I know who I'm married to.

Disclaimer: Sorry I don't have any wife stories, not married no kids except my car.

I let my 74 year old mother drive my car for the first time.
She used to have a mid 80's Camaro. The one with the digital liquid crystal display. That was the last time she drove a fast car before driving my Camaro.

She used to drag race when she was younger and knows how to drive a stick, but she was used to the 383's from the 60-70's.

Let her get in the car, I put the car in touring, because she wouldn't be able to handle the steering in Track Mode. So, we came to a stop light... What does she do?

0-106mph pull WOT lol!

I never realized how hard the car pulls until I road in the passenger seat for the first time. I guess while driving the psychology is different, and you don't feel the pull. But my stomach sank into the back of the seat far more fiercely than I expected.

When she realized she was doing 106mph, she slowed down, and said, "You can't feel how fast you are going, the car is smooth all the way up to 100mph. I thought I was only doing 80!"

I told her, that's what 540hp feels like. She'd never driven a car with that much hp before.

Then she says, "I want one, but I can't get one because if I do, I'll get in so much trouble!"

Then she says she's going to put a Life insurance policy on me.

And my seat is all the way raised, lol. I will say I'm sure grateful for the rear-view mirror camera when backing up though. Which I don't think all models have. It is tough for me to clutch and do the arm behind the pass-seat to actually look back to reverse.

As the wife who ordered and bought the Camaro with the husband who told me to buy a Dodge... his mind is officially changed and wants to dive it as much as I do. Says, I done did good
Hello fellow 5’ 3” female driver. I’m on my 4th Camaro (currently in a ‘20 2SS1LE) and my husband rarely drives my car for fear something will happen to it and he’ll have to listen to me freak out. Lol. He loves my car and is even encouraging me to upgrade to a ZL1.
And yes I LOVE the rear view camera!

FlukeSS your mom is totally awesome at a young age of 74 to put the hammer down. Your mom's comment on how well the camaro drives and handles at that speed is spot on to exactly what my wife said the car really didn't feel like it was going at that speed. You have a great mom and I hope she does get her camaro. ( mothers day is coming up )

I don't really want my family driving mine (assuming it is ever built).

Wife has....acceleration issues.

Father in law? He's a retired cop.

I don't have that issue since I am single, but a friend of mine recently picked up an SRT-4. His girlfriend managed to leave a nice scrape on the car just a couple of days ago when she tried to park it.

Unless you have proven yourself to be able to handle a car as powerful/big or even more powerful/bigger than mine, well, I ain't letting you drive it. I let the said buddy above drive mine once when I was burnt out after a track day since he drives a Hellcat Charger regularly, and he drives a stick well, too, so I trust him.

My 10 year old son can't wait to drive it. That might be a problem.
My girlfriend of 24 years (yeah yeah I know marry her) is 6' so visibility isn't the issue and she wont say what is. All I know is when we bought the C8 she wanted to take it to work and drive it out with friends. We got the Camaro ZL1 she wont touch it. Wont look at it and if I try to talk about it she just tunes out and could not care less.

My wife is not particularly interested in driving the car, but isn't afraid of it either.

Now, just to be on the safe side, I told her to use snow/ice mode by default, tour if she feels adventurous, and the throttle should just stay below 40-50%
