I guess I should drive the car more often so I can try to flush this issue before the 5 years are up. I am at 11K. no issues so far.

What is the highest mileage we have seen before this issue comes to light?

Yours is the highest mileage failure I can recall in this thread. I'm at 17k and thinking I'm out of the woods. I guess time will tell.

I doubt anyone with a '17 and probably many '18s is out of the woods - if any of them get stress cracks it's probably just a matter of time and type of use

So should we just then pay to get it replaced? While at it, do some cam work?
I just rather not open the engine if not needed.

That’s what I’m doing. I don’t really care to do a cam, but I’d be stupid to not bulletproof the motor while I was in there.

What else are you doing? I thought the LT4 was pretty bulletproof minus of course the oil pump

Well apparently my car already had the oil pump replaced at 10,100 miles. 2018 ZL1 Build date 8/17

I guess i don't have to worry about it anymore

How can that not show up on the carfax of the car?

Does anyone here work at a GM dealer? If so, please let me know if you would be willing to assist me in getting a repair history from GM. My dealer did not want me to keep a copy of it. I was able to read it and that's how I see that the oil pump was replaced.

What? Why didn’t they give to you YOUR vehicle history? We’re not talking about $5k, 15 year old car. I’m sure you paid a decent buck for your Z. Did they tell you why they won’t share your info? Personally, I wouldn’t have left without it…and most likely would have created a scene. That sounds like BS to me. It’s your car, if you want to sell it private party, I would think you’d want to have that paperwork in hand, at least I would.

Yes but how come this info didn't show up on Carfax? I'd like to know as I imported my Z from the US and the Carfax was clean.

I still need them to honor my muffler replacement under warranty so i didn't want to create an scene. Idk they said i couldn't keep that specific paper with the repair history.
