If you are already living in fear I doubt this will do much to assuage your paranoia.

It’s not only about the pin to lock the door, but also a new wiring harness going on EU cars to make it work with the lock/unlock remote...
Just ask if you’re lucky to find the good person the import export building team. |

Even Low end Hondas have a locking gas door.
That said, I have not heard of the sugar in the tank trick in decades. They just key your car now. |

Fuel Door locks when I lock the car via keyfob. Maybe a Euro-exclusive feature? 2018 2SS EU.

Well, he is in California.... so maybe just some simple velcro would be able to deter the moron who tries to tamper with his car.

I’ve seen a small lock system, like the computer hardware disk lock one with a little key...
Not the best looking but efficient. Top corner left of the trap. |

Not yet, but I don't want to give someone a chance either.

Ford makes one that fits several of its vehicles - don’t know if it will fit other companies’ products:

This thread reminds me of the old saying:
"Just cause your paranoid does not mean the bastards aren't out to get you!" Unfortunately, Your car will be keyed long before junk in the tank. Having a wide circle of friends, I have never heard of this (junk in the tank) since the '70s. If you do stumble on to a locking plug, 1. Never lose the key or not have it with you. 2. Know how to defeat the lock in case of #1 or lock failure (common on the old gas locks). Or just save the money for the repaint after it is keyed. |

Because sugar in the gas doesn't even do anything on a modern car. Sugar doesn't dissolve into gas, only water. So it will sit and get filtered and you'd probably never even know for the life of the car it was there. Your engine won't get ruined, nothing bad will happen.

So what are we worried about. That was my point, not the junk used.
When is the last time Anyone has heard of junk in the tank? Anyone? Ask your dealer. They should have a better picture. Oh and I have heard of tanks drilled, Usually large trucks, for the gas/diesel. |
