ACS T5 Splitter

With this splitter, has anyone just bought the black primer color and ran it? Does it hold up well? If I were keeping the splitter a black like the factory diffuser should I just get the satin black for the extra money?

Painted mine with black primer and then matte black trim paint....looks great and has held up fine since the spring. If you go that route sand with a fine grit sandpaper and leave for 24hrs before painting. That's what Joseph at ACS told me to do.

Ok cool, from what I'm reading they come in a black primer?

Ok cool so the contest is to sand with fine grit paper (what grit?) then paint. I noticed one if you used matte black and one used flat black? I was thinking on satin black...? How many coats and did you clear coat?

Sorry...never responded to this. They come black primer but need to be painted as the primer will fade. I used I think 2000 grit and painted with matte black trim paint from Canadian Tire.

I got the T5 Splitter from ACS . I went with getting it painter satin black . I wanted a little shine to it only because Matt black & flack black show scratches so easy . I also got the side rockers and rear extentsions all done in satin black . they hold up great and shine just enough to look clean . I couldn't be happier. My ZL1 spoiler is matt black and I regret it so much because it shows scratches easy. Also one thing I did to the splitter & rockers on the edges is went to Auto Zone & bought the trim edge stuff for the door , the small gauge and I went and put it on the bottom edges of them , clean look and protects them from scrapes.

How hard is this splitter to install? I'm looking at getting a splitter for my RS and haven't found one that I really like for the V6 front end.

I have wanted a ACS T5 for some time now but could not pay the extra $100 for shipping that online resellers wanted . So I went on a vision quest and found it for $273.43 shipped to my home after using the $25.00 off coupon on the website. I ordered the black primer one and will paint it with a clear satin paint , will post when done this weekend as it just arrived via fed ex yesterday. Purchased at Southerncarparts.com on 4-9-2016 arrived to South Jersey 4-14-2016

How did you get free shipping? They show a cost for the shipping for me.

Ditto. The least expensive shipping method was $95 to MI., and even when I put in the $25 coupon code, it didn't reduce the price.(?)
I'd hop on one for $275 to the door.

Install is very easy. Well for me at least. Just make sure you have the correct size drill bit to not over drill the holes
