It was a coworkers car that was leasing if cheaply (Germany) so it was A to B transportation to him. Not a care about long term cost of battery replacement, etc.

I am honestly asking if this is sarcasm. The photo is one thing. It photographs MUCH better than it actually looks. The picture doesn't clearly show the grey particle board material, including all the exposed fibers. And when you are in it and touching the interior materials...it's pretty bad.

That's because that is exactly what it is.

Can't say I blame you with the nearest service centers in Chicago, KC, and Minneapolis... Tesla has avoided Iowa like the plague.

Yeah.. I don't think this video was setup at all because of the Mustang "race". I think it was just some guy recording his buddy's tesla at a drag strip.

Tesla, nor a Tesla fan site, would ever setup a race with the Slowest 1st Gen Mustang in the world to prove how fast the Tesla is.

Its your typical everyday Fake News we get from the Fake News media everyday now. Look who wrote the article, look at the name of the magazine. Either the driver can't drive or the race track is located 6000' above seal level. The only ones the article is lying too are the ones wanting to buy a Tesla. Anyone knowing the capabilities of the Camaro can see they are FOS.

Lol, I have no idea what is biased OR incorrect in this article. Do you think every Camaro that gets driven on the track breaks 12 seconds regardless of the driver? I think not.

It was actually complimentary about the Camaro.

If you somehow think all the time represent real performance then only God can help Ford based on that Mustangs time.

A Tesla can be drag raced by someone who has never even driven a car before, and assuming battery temps are stable it'll be repeatable with little variation despite differences that typically effect ICE powered cars.

For an SS with a M6 to beat a model 3 is going to take some amount of driver skill and some amount of luck wrt conditions. That's all there is to it. Where I live in the Denver area I may never be able to beat a model 3. I really don't care.

I'm thinking that this is bait for an idiotic political debate.

The author is a shameless Tesla fanboy:

This came up as pure clickbait on Google news. About as relevant as "Kim Kardashian almost squeezes butt into Model 3."

While I do agree the 13 sec time slip for the 6th Gen is a bit ludacris and its also pretty evident the driver screwed up the launch pretty bad, Those Tesla's aren't anything to sneeze at. Their sedans are very capable of keeping up with 6th Gens and performance model Tesla's are quite capable of slaughtering both our SS's and even a ZL1 in the Quarter Mile.

In a real race with a Tesla Sedan, the Tesla would pull ahead from a dig and the SS would slowly reel it back in and pass it by the 1/4th mile marker which is what pretty much was happening in this race but since the launch failed so bad he didnt get enough distance to reel the Tesla back in.

The article does seem to...exaggerate the Tesla's accomplishment with the SS and Mustang both running very weak times in comparison, but all things being equal, a AWD Tesla Sedan wouldn't be cake walk to take down for an SS.

I think most of us can understand instant torque + AWD of an electric is going to produce the quickest acceleration...off the line. But that's where the fun stops with electrics, while they are getting better, there is a reason you don't see many videos of Tesla's roll racing.

Here are two examples of P90D (considerable quicker than a Model 3) roll racing - and the results speak for themselves. The transmission on ICE cars helps achieve better acceleration after launch. Even the owner of both the M4 and P90 admits he thought the M4 would get beat from a roll, when it actually was very even.

Second video maybe the gutted P90D that is known around 1320 video, but I'm not sure.
