2019 Camaro SS 1/4 mile with A10 auto?

If gm does put the 10speed auto into the Camaro SS what do you guys think it will run in the 1/4 mile? My guess is hi 11’s On Street tires, What are your thoughts?

Maybe a 1/10th or two better than the 8 speed.

I think they are pretty close to the point of diminishing returns with the 8 speed. However, there must be at least some fuel economy or performance benefit available or they wouldn't have bothered. I recall when they went from the 4 speed to 6 speed auto in the Vette, they had trouble improving upon the perf and FE #s (according to Tadge).

Honda went to a 10 speed auto on the high level Accords for 2018, jumping up from a 6 speed. I think 10 speeds will be the industry standard in the not so distant future.

It will help a bit, but IMO I don't think it will be as drastic of a jump as the Mustang going from 6A to 10A, or when Challenger went from 5 to 8.

I'm loving the a8. It's plenty of fun and speed/power. The only thing I worry about with the 10 speed is the old saying. "The more complicated the plumbing the easier it is to stop up the drain". Just two more gears to tear up. Lol.

The road coarse race programming in that 10 speed sounded magical on the ZL1 ring video.

I agree, but doubt the 10 speed is going to fix that.

The 10 speed would be nice. The 8 speed auto has been problematic in both C6 and trucks.. lots of complaints...

Agree with this completely.

Might take the GM "official" 12.3 with the 8 speed to a 12.2 or 12.1. I'd expect very minor improvements in FE.

Negligible improvement. At best I'd say a tenth.
