Somehow, I feel this board is too focused on the performance part of the camaro and discount a lot of issues with the 6th gen design. When it comes to actually buying a car, it would matter a lot as I can't just go by a car that's better on paper. If you are going to buy a car to track, then yeah, don't look any further, but if you want a DD which keeps you excited, then the competition is stiff. |

The Z06 and ACR compared well in instrumented testing but the ACR crushed the Z06 on the track.

I don't see 1LE beating GT350R. Seems like an unfair comparison to me.. 1LE will cost significantly less than even the regular GT350. Z/28 is the GT350R competitor.

Yep. The 1LE will be close to the GT350. Can't wait for the H2H with Randy Pobst

I really don't think the 1le has anything to worry about with the gt350, not one bit besides trap speed.

Or NOT sell the car as they are standard.
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=457196 The seats if like some other Recaros only fit a "normal" body type. So if you're small, big, broud shouldered, etc it could make for quite an uncomfortable fit as they do not give you a S, M, L size choice like if you bought them from Recaro yourself. And being they are standard, you can't opt for the regular seats either. This is my worry being that I'm 6' 2", 250 pounds with very wide shoulders. The Recaros in the Ford ST's are very uncomfortable for me as my shoulders don't fit flat in the seat. This is my worry with the 1LE... |

I'm plenty happy with folks buying the 1LE to look cool vs taking it to the track. That just means there will be lightly used ones available when I'm ready to upgrade from the 1SS!

I'm not sure why you some of you are calling the GT350 comparisons unfair. If you want apples to apples the 1LE was supposed to compare to the GT performance pack, but we all know how that would turn out! By some of your logic, the M4 comparison wasn't fair either and look how that turned out. Face it the Camaros shoot a lower handicap than the Mustangs so they get compared to cars out of its league. Yes the GT350 has the power advantage, but no one seems to acknowledge the torque advantage the SS has. The 1LE WILL come out of turns faster than the GT350 (assuming both have the same ability to put down the power exiting, think ELSD and PTM) however on larger straights the GT350 will reel in the 1LE. Now none of us will know how close they are on small tracks until we start seeing reviews, but I believe a few bolt ons will seriously even the playing field and might even give the 1LE the edge in track times.
