Close Calls at the Track, AutoX thread

I saw this on another forum, and thought we should have this thread here too. Post your close calls during track days, Auto X, hill climbs, time attack or other events.

I'll start. In my previous BMW M2 at Nurburgring:

Thanks guys!

I was hell bent on reaching a 7:5x lap time, and willing to sacrifice a lot for it. I got there in the end, but yeah, white knuckle moments were plentiful.

I'm sure with the very strong track and auto-x community here, we have lots of members with good saves and close calls. I've seen a ton of ZL1, SS, V6 and Turbo guys post about their experiences. Bring on the videos!

I will start having Camaro specific videos in about a week, after my first track event in the 1LE. Looking forward to experience the car near it's limits. It's a lot more car than the M2.

One more for this thread. Not too close of a call on any of these, actually the first one I kept my foot in even, but more of a general "Bloopers and Hooning" kind of thing. Stay safe out there my friends.

I had a bit of a close call the other week. I grabbed 2nd instead of 4th. Thankfully it broke traction instead of a engine. I came to a stop about 4ft from the wall.

Wow, that was close indeed. The fact you reacted so fast and counter steered is probably why you saved it. Great work!

And a good thing I didn’t see this until a couple of days after, Pitt Race is a 4 hour trip, and I didn’t bring a change of shorts *laughs*
