Actually the wing is just in view on the very bottom using shark fin on the ZLE. This is why GM did not add it. However this actually gives a good frame of reference sort of like people adjusting their side mirrors so they can barely see the side of the car.

I would happy take that trade off and have the view of the wing at the bottom than bisecting the view out the back. Either that, or a camera mount in the center wing support would work

Exactly... much better trade-off. Unfortunately GM didn't see it that way.

Gen5DIY does have this retro-fitted now.

If you are over 40 and wear reading glasses, remember that the 2019+ camera mirror will be useless to you, and you will always be on regular mirror mode. You're eyes won't be able to focus on the LCD image.

This is very true. Rear camera is a cool toy but I can’t see anything on it with my progressive lense glasses.

A buddy of mine has a new 2019 Suburban that has a DVD player for rear passengers. While traveling to Florida our wives were in the back seat watching movies. The screen is right in the middle behind the front seats. With the screen down, you have NO visibility in the rear view mirror. This would be great in that use.

Unfortunately, last I checked, the retrofit was only for the regular ZL1. They don’t have any retrofit for the ZL1 1LE package :-/

I hope they do one day, that would be a huge improvement

Which camera is now integrated into the shark fin, mirror or back up?

Backup camera is where it always was (above the license plate), and the ZL1 rear view is in the roof antenna. SS rear view is in the spoiler.

One of the best new vehicle gadgets by GM in a while. Excellent tool for visibility.

I don’t want to put one on my ZL1! I like the mirror that was installed in 2017!

Gen5DIY has a kit to retrofit the live rear view mirror into older cars but be prepared they are kinda spendy.
