5th gen vs 6th Gen ZL1 noise level

I had a 2012 ZL1 and thought it had pretty low road noise for a muscle car on the highway. I haven't driven a 6th gen, but for those who've owned both, is the noise level comparable on the highway or rough roads? Better, same, worse?

I can't comment specifically on that, but I know the noise level went down substantially when I swapped tires on my Gen V.

Thanks. I'd likely put Pilot Sport 4S tires on it when the Goodyears are gone. I've heard they're quieter than the Goodyears.

Comparing the 5th gen ZL1 to my CA6 SS I'd say about the same. For sure Chevy kept the weight down as much as possible. But the chassis being more rigid in the CA6 that helps I'm sure.

The SS is louder because of the intake sound tube. You can get the firewall plug to make it quieter.

Thanks. That's about 9db quieter than my daily driver, which is significant. 69db is really quiet.

For reference, 69db is the same as a 2017 Mercedes C300 Coupe at 70mph.

What I noticed from the charts is the 95db WOT level, which is loud when you want it to be and louder than the 5th gen's.
