Widening stock SS wheels in Calgary

I would like to widen my stock SS wheels to 9" up front and 10" for the rears. Does anyone know of a shop in Calgary that can do that?

Like the rims themselves? I've never even heard of that being done before. Wondering if it would just be cheaper to buy a different set of rims in that width?

Yeah the rims. Lot's of people have widened the stock fronts and move them to the rear and moved the 9" stock rears to the front. But to do that I would have to run a spacer on the rears in order to fit a 315 tire. So I'm going to widen the 9" rear to 10.5 and maybe have the fronts widened to 9" or 9.5" to run a 275 front tire. I found a shop that can do it in town as well.

Oh ok! Are they charging a lot to do that for you, or is it fairly reasonable?

Well from what I have seen on various posts in this forum it's been anywhere from $200 to $300 per wheel.

After almost 5 years of looking at different wheels, and getting a new set, I still really like the stock wheels. I just wish they were wider. Ideally 9" front and 10" or 11" rears would be perfect.

I would talk to the people at Alberta Wheel off Goddard Avenue. They are just plain magic when it comes to wheels. If they can't do it, I'm sure they could refer you to someone who can. They've been in the business for as long as I can remember. I've sent Porsche rims to the with pieces as big as my hand broken out of them and they were always returned perfect! Could not even tell there was anything broken out of them. IMHO, they are number 1!

I had to research this for a service manager I use to work with for his mustang wheels. Seems the only good place to do it is Weldcraft Wheels in the states. Cost of doing the wheels isn't much, but the freight and down time is what gets you.

Another option would be factory replica wheels. I'm sure you can get the stock style in a 20x10 if I remember correctly.

Thanks! That is one of the company's I'll be contacting. I was also going to call Calgary Tire Shop.

I did check them out but they only have stock widths in the 20" diameter. The 22" come in 10" and 11" widths but I don't want 22" rims.

I believe there is a shop in Richmond BC called Greens Automotive that can do it. About $500 a pair if I remember right.
