Coolant Tank

Alright got some questions for guys that have tracked your Camaro alot. I have only been doing it for about a year but I have a question about the coolant overflow tank/tanks on the ZLE. Before track days I check the coolant in the lower tank and it is always a bit lower than the line on the side of the tank, but the upper tank looks as though it is going to overflow. Is this the normal operation and do you keep the lower tank topped off at the line. Not a good pic but hopefully it shows what I am referring to. I can not get the attachment to flip even after editing so sorry.

It's in the owners manual(page 250), this is normal. The bottom is the "overflow". You want the bottom tank about half filled.

This. Keep the bottom tank at that line on cold coolant.

It's a weird set up but the overflow tank is on the bottom and the coolant reservoir is on top and it should be kept full at all times.
