square tires on staggered wheels

SS 1LE has these from factory:
Front: 20x10 wheel 285/30 R20
Rear: 20x11 wheel 305/30 R20

I'm currently enjoying big discounts when I replace Continental Extreme Contact Sport. They have a 30,000 mile warranty and I get about 12k out of a set. (this is on another car with square wheel and tire set up).

The warranty states they half it for staggered cars. Given 4 tires for SS 1LE are around $2,000 installed, I'm wondering how I can put square tires on and keep the full warranty. The obvious answer is to run 20x10 wheels on the rear but what if I keep the 20x11. Can I run a 285 tire on the 11 wide rear rim? Or how about 295 all round? Anyone thought of this or done it?

I know the performance will not be quite as good, but:
  • this is not a small amount of money to be saved (potentially $1,000s)
  • if I don't like it I can always change back after a few burnouts
  • AFAIK it will not be dangerous or cause damage, just not optimized (rear rim will be more vulnerable to curb rash)
  • I live in dry warm weather year round

This is handy. https://m.roadkillcustoms.com/tire-w...y-wheel-width/
Shows the minimum, optimum, and maximum width of tire for a rim. But probably the most reliable information is from tire manufacturer - they should specify what rim width you should use.

I run 295/35 R19's on all 4 corners on 10.5" wheels. Its doable, and I have the Continental Extreme Contact Sports. It is a tight fit for me, and I have @ 10mm of poke front and back. A 295 should fit a 10" and 11" wheel, but because they are 20" wheels, I can not confirm if you will have rubbing issues with the bottom of the suspension or not.

I run a 285/35 on the rear 11" rim for winter tires, works perfectly fine.

Assuming we are talking about the Continental ExtremeContact Sport (the DW is long out of production and the Sport is its replacement), and assuming you are talking about using your stock 1LE wheels, you could run the 295/30/20 on both ends and be within the rim width range recommended by the manufacturer for the tire. However, this isn't a "square" fitment because the wheels are still staggered. I'm sure Conti doubles the warranty on a true square fitment because you can rotate the tires front to rear, but you won't be able to do that. Therefore, I'd just use the stock 1LE sizes of 285/30/20 front and 305/30/20 rear.
