2018 SS?

I just noticed a gently used 2018 SS at a dealership near me. It only has 4k miles on it. Its an auto in red hot with active exhaust, magnetic ride control and the gray painted wheels. They are asking just over 38k, which seems a little high, but it is pretty low miles. IDK, I was really leaning towards a scat pack as soon as my house closes, but this looks interesting too. It is technically almost 3 years old already and would prefer one with the ceramic or tan seats. I do like the styling of the 18's better than the new ones, but I would most likely have to worry about the trans acting up at some point.

Zero issues with mine. The trans may need a little loving, but the Mobil1 fluid introduced in Jan 2019 solved trans issues for most people, and if not, a torque converter certainly will.

Check out the differences between the 2016-2018 and 2019+ apart from the exterior changes (10L80 trans, custom launch control+line lock, new infotainment, rear view camera mirror, no garage door opener, forward collision alert, tire fill alert, wireless android auto/carplay from 2021, seats recline a bit deeper) and decide how important the new features are.

I for one will not be upgrading.

The MSRP for this config was $44,800 before destination charge and discounts, assuming zero other options. A brand new 2018 2SS for $36K would have been a rare and lucky score, not the norm.

Yea, that's not right lol.

My 2016 2SS I bought used last fall NEW in 2015 was about 45-46k when I priced the options out online for that year. I got it used, 16k miles for around $31,200 so I jumped all over it.

I wouldn't pay 38, for that though. Talk them down to 36,500. Mag ride control is nice. My 2ss does not have that.

Around here is hard to find ANY SS. However around my region the SS does not move very well on the lots used and especially new. I see the same ones listed for weeks and months.

Keep looking, don't jump on the first one you see. If you're looking used and have a strict price point I'd look at the 17 and 18s with under 30k miles as well and get a better deal. Same performance.

if you can get it below $35k it would be worth it, with only 4k miles. Not many used 2ss with low miles out there.
