Help! complete car noob and my front car seat is stuck!

I moved it forward while I was still in the front seat to let my daughter out because I was eating. And it didn’t go back! I checked on the previous posts and they’re all filled with car experts who seem to know what they’re doing. Well I’m a dumbass and know nothing about cars, electricals, etc. went to try and unplug and plug the connections under the seat and I couldn’t even unplug them. I didn’t want to ruin it more than it is so I’m making this post. The seat will go forward backward and recline forward but won’t recline backwards. Please if anybody knows how to fix please give me a dummy’s guide on how because like I said I do not know anything about cars lol

Could be the switch itself. Best say to check would be with a test light and see if it has power when pressing the button.

You may just want to bring it to a shop you trust. If it's the switch it shouldn't be that expensive of a fix.

Harbor Freight I think has them. You stick the alligater clip end to a good groungd something metal, and then probe the pointed tip to the back of the switch connector pins.

Of course, you will need to know which particular pin controls which functIon on the switch. I think a search here and/or on google can point you in the right direction. Or, if that's too complicated, just take it to a good shop and have them figure it out, I guess.
