How Long Did it Take at the Dealership??

Spent over 2 hours at a Chevy dealership. Ready to buy. But they were still dicking around and taking their time. So I walked out. I’m ready to buy a 2018 Camaro SS.

I was at my dealership for about 3 hrs, but I spent about 45 min of that running to get a check. What area of the US are you in?

HATE car dealerships but I Love cars!! Oh well. Next time I’ll show up when they first open. Some of these dealerships are worse than the doctors office.

Well, it's not exactly like buying a shirt. There is quite a bit of paperwork, and of course them trying to sell you other stuff, warranties, protection packages, on star and xm add ons. Heck, in Texas, tags and titling goes through the dealership as well.

I've bought many cars but honestly Hardy Chevrolet in Gainesville GA was the fastest (and easiest) I've ever dealt with. In and out including negotiating in about an hour.

I'd buy from them again for sure!

Spent 8 hours at the dealership (first one in , last to leave) at that point they gave me a white ss to take home then an hour later they had my blue ss delivered at the dealer ready to pickup. Negotiating is a long process.

2.5 hours, never been there before, drove in my trade, drove out Camaro.
Had letters pre approved for my loan from penfed and standby binder for insurance. When walking in, ask for the floor sales manager , not a sales guy.

I went to a dealership just because I wanted to do a same day test drive with a Mustang and a Camaro, hadn't planned on buying. They didn't even have the trim level I wanted, and I told them as much. Less than an hour later (including the test drive) they found me the EXACT car I wanted (color, options, etc) at another dealership, and gave me the exact deal i was looking for, besting two other high volume out of state dealerships I was negotiating with. When I picked up the car today I learned that they knocked off another $90 off the price, and got me a finance rate .20% less than I was looking for (which surprised me), essentially saving another $360 overall in the process. So yeah, I was pretty happy. BTW, when I spoke to a Chevy rep online about local inventory, he told me there was only three 1SS 1LE models available within a 150 mile radius of me, and only one with PDR. That was THE car I ended up with, confirmed with my sales person.

I was there 3 hours total. Smaller dealership so I had to spend a little time back and forth before they got the price where I wanted it. Wasn't gonna by. Just looking. Then my wife said if your gonna get one get that black vert in the showroom. I laughed and said that is $52,000. Told them we were leaving and they said make an offer. Told them $40,000 and sales guy laughed. I did to. After an hour of Back and forth told him I had to go and would buy it without $10,000 off Msrp. His boss Said he could do $43,000. Told him to get the papers and open showroom doors. Rest is history. Lovin it !!!

Seriously I would rather go to the dentist and the doctor before a car dealership to buy a new car. LOL

The wife used the car buying program with the FCU and the dealer delivered the car to the house. Time at dealer: 0
