Yup, I can hear mine too if I'm just cruising around with the radio off at slow speeds. Doesn't bother me one bit as I know what it is...and it's normal. The sound tube probably pumps more of the sound in too...

Off topic....but speaking of this sound tube. Can it be taken off without any problems....even without "upgrading" or changing ANYTHING else?

This is more than just direct injector ticking. I'm 1000% used to that. This is something else that has been getting louder over the last 500 miles.

Nevermind. I'll just take it to the dealership. I was more curious if anyone else heard anything similar.

Possible exhaust leak thus amplifying the sound?

Your first video sounded fine, the second one, yes, it sounds a bit like poop. I sat in my garage last night with the engine running for about 10 minutes, revving it every once in a while...i didn't hear what I heard in your second video. Did you open the hood or record from outside the car?

I walked around my car, and if I bent down by the back side of the front wheel, on driver's side, things sounded louder, but still not like what you posted in second video.

When you go to the dealer, have them pull up another SS with NPP and see if they sound the same.

I tried to record the sound with my GoPro and with my iPhone, iPhone sorta worked the best with it placed somewhere near the driver's side valve cover and the hood closed.

We'll see. I'd rather be overly cautious and have them tell me it's normal than wait until it gets worse.

I have a '17 SS, and I had a '16 SS, they both pretty much sounded just like that...DI is noisy on these LT1's!

Swung by over the weekend, a few techs listened to it and they admitted they could definitely hear it, but they suggested to wait until my next oil change to see if anything changes, even though I told them I changed the oil at 650 miles (has 1100 on it now). They gave me the b.s. line of "the parts are still getting used to each other" but I let them know it started doing this about 200 miles ago.

Guess we'll see, but I'm telling you guys, if you heard it, it sounds embarrassing. The only good thing is that it really only happens between 1700 and 2000 RPM.

Did you get documentation or something in writing saying that is what they recommended doing?

Really, the parts are still getting used to each other...? Take it to another dealer, or find a local performance shop and have them listen to it.
