Mustang convertible won't fit four + bags easily either, especially top-down.

Rent a second car? Bus ticket for the kids?

Plus family and family luggage.

Save the drop top Camaro rental for when it just you and the missus heading up PCH to California wine country.

A Mustang convertible has significantly more cargo capacity in the trunk. Interior-wise will be tight, but doable in my opinion. Late last year my wife and along with my sister and brother-in-law took a road trip to the Florida panhandle in our 2015 GT convertible. I'm right at 6', my wife and sister are both roughly 5'-6". My brother-in-law is around 5'-8". We had no issues, though I was not as comfortable as I am when it's just the wife and I.

Also, the trunk is completely segregated so there's no difference in cargo capacity whether the top is up or down.

I own a 16 camaro and had the change to rent one while in Florida while vacationing in South Beach. The convertible is awesome and a great ride. Now the bad news, storage space and passenger space is almost non existant after you leave the front seats.

With the top up I was able to store four soft bags in the trunk. With the topc down there is room for just about two backpacks. There is a compartment divider that has to be in the up position for the roof control to work and it really limits available space.

The rear seats are very small. I had someone in the back for a short ride. They were 5'9" and thin. They barely fit and they commented on how they felt they were riding above us. It did seem like they were elevated a great deal.

If you can drop off the bags and then make the ride to the keys I'd say go for it. If you have to put four people in the car with those bags be prepared to have the top up while driving. Sorry for the bad news.

You're not fitting everyone in that car. It's not going to work period. Whether he holds his bag, or this bag gets stuffed in that little nook and cranny. Whatever it may be...it just isn't going to work.

Get yourself a rental that fits the family. If your looking for a convertible sports car to spend a day or two with your wife...go rent an exotic.

I was (and still am) obsessed with cars. I went to florida with my parents i was about 14. My dad rented a viper for 5-600 bucks for the day so i could ride in it. (and drive it for a little, don't tell no one!)

How i see it, you probably didn't rent an SS. Just get a car comfortable for your family, better on gas. And get a REAL sports car/convertible for a beautiful day with your wife or kids..for a day or two

This will never work. 6'4, 5'11", and 5'10"? Ha. I'm sorry man, but please make a Plan B asap and don't even attempt the Camaro. The back seats in the Vert are for show only. The backs of the front seats touch the back seats. There is zero leg room for w/your son in the front or back.

Im 5 10, with the seats in a comfortable place for me, I literally don't fit in the back of the car.
No reason to get a cramped vert for 14 hours of driving (Im assuming you have to drive there AND back)
Youll just be miserable.
Get a full-sized sedan or crossover with a big sunroof if you want to enjoy the weather, youll be in a better mood

More importantly is that you will surpass the load limit of the car with 4 adults and luggage...safety first. You would still surpass load limits of a mustang

I never looked, whats the load limit on the car? I always assumed it would be 1K+ pounds; enough for 4 grown adults + some stuff
