How do keep your car clean from tracking
I realize this is the wrong forum category but... I did my first 2 day track event and the car is covered in rubber. I polished with carpro essence and reload before the event thinking it would help.
So far I am having to polish it off. 1. Is there an easier way to prevent the rubber from sticking in the first place? 2. Is there a better way of removing it? I don't really have a lot of spare free time. Considering spraying the car with a silicone mold release we use at work. (It helps plastic parts eject off the mold) or maybe pam cooking spray before the next event. Then there is the blue painters tape idea. Or buy a black car. |

To your first question, other than blue tape, not really. Second question; Mothers R3, or WD-40. To a much lesser extent, Stoners Tarminator. Other brands bug-n-tar might be OK but not as good as the first two I listed. Obviously Mothers R3 will remove any coating that might've been left on your paint.
Tracking a car and being detailing freak basically can't go together unless you don't have a day-job. Any sort of coating or wax will be decimated by the clag, debris, agriculture, and brake dust pouring down the side of the car. Painters tape kind of works, but it mainly moves the labor to before the event instead of after. It will slightly help against small pebbles, but not bigger ones. It's easier to budget new paint every couple years. That's my $0.02.

I just cleaned up my car from tracking last weekend. I had blue tape on the hot spots but still had a lot of rubber marks to remove.
I use my car wax to remove the spots, it's a solvent and mildly abrasive. A little extra wax here and there doesn't hurt. |

I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I've heard this works well. |

On my 5th gen, I just used liberal amounts of Meguirs detail spray. Had clear bra, but it was way easier to clean off the rubber "tar' balls. Gentle soap and all was fine,

You can tape it up but you'll always be rubber to clean after a good track event. Most bug and tar removers help also a clay bar works well.

I use Turtle Wax bug and tar remover. Works fast and effectively. But ya, if you track a car often it helps to lower one's standards regarding showroom condition

TurtleWax tar remover here as well. Sometimes the marbles scratch the paint underneath, so don't expect the rubber to remove perfectly in all cases without a trace.
I put TrakkTape (expensive) in key areas in front of the rear wheels and under the rocker panels, maybe a bit on the front bumper as well. But I also just learned to accept over the years that you cannot expect to track and keep it perfect. They are mutually exclusive. You will have more fun with your car if you don't sweat the wear and tear. |

Mothers R3 is specifically made for this. R3 stands for Racing Rubber Remover. It's the easiest thing I've found. Or you can just get a black car and not worry about it

Then I hit it with a pressure washer after the track and peel it off. Most of the rubber debris peel off with it. I think it has drastically reduced my overall prep/cleanup time and saved the paint some wear and tear. As others have said though the paint will still take some abuse regardless of what you do. |

I also used turtlewax bug & tar remover. It worked well for me, but I'd suggest getting a second mitt to use with it if you're washing by hand. I went in uneducated and used the same mitt I usually used to wash the car, and having the remover mixed in completely killed the suds not only on that wash, but on future washes as well because I couldn't get it entirely out of the mitt.
