Automatic Power Shutdown?

How can I keep the radio on longer than 5 minutes when the motor is off? Sometimes while polishing or just tinkering about I like to have the radio running. Also, during the summer I sometimes take in the outdoor movie drive ins where in order to hear the audio from the movie, you have to tune into a specific FM radio station. Is there a setting maybe in the info system that will keep the radio on indefinitely?

Yes you can, foot off brake, press and hold button down. Cycle it to green and you can have your radio.

Edit: indefinitely? No.

I think that only lasts for a certain amount of time, like 10 mins, then will automatically shut down as well. Buy you are right it does solve the problem.

I'm talking about a bypass that will keep only the radio on.
Hell, if Indian has the option via their infotainment system to run the sound system separately, while bypassing everything else electrical and the auto shut down, I thought maybe GM might as well.

Hold the "start/stop" button down for a few seconds (foot off brake). This puts the car into "accessory/diagnosis". This does activate everything though, so make sure your HVAC is off, lights, etc... especially at the drive in.

Glen doesn’t like anything but fast cars and beautiful woman. Might as well get used to it lol.

The other thingy is probably written in the code. Doubt there is a way around it. I’m sure if the battery saver wasn’t in there some idiot would leave there radio on in the desert and then die and GM would get sued. Not like the old days where you turned the key back and let the tunes go all night and then just call a buddy to come jump you off. Those where the days !!!!

Yea, just have your finger ready every 10 minutes or so as there is no way around it unless someone over the past 2 years came up with a solution or remedy LOL
