I got it from carid.com. https://www.carid.com/carbon-creatio...5&url=90792137

Yes, UV kills it. After a while it hazes right out.
Didn't GM come out with a factory removable top for their sixth Gen ZR1 Corvette that was carbon fiber or carbon fiber look?
I'm not sure if it was real carbon fiber or some type of carbon fiber finish.
I remember reading in order to repair the top, the finish was around 1K for a few ounces.

The hood is clear coated plus I use a sealant (Liquid Glass) that is not affected by the UV rays. I don't anticipate any issue with fading.

I looked it up concerning the factory carbon fiber top on the C6 Corvette ZR1.
GM was concerned with fading and had an additive mixed in the clear coat.
The additive to protect against UV rays is what costs a bundle.

The UV-blocking chemical additive to the clear coat costs $60,000 a gallon and the clear coat with the additive mixed in comes to $2,000 a gallon.

WOW, that is stupid expensive!! I bet the guys that bought those ZR1's had no idea how much it would cost to repair. The only reason I got this hood is to extract the heat from the engine compartment more efficiently.

I know this is an older thread, but what rear spoiler mods did you do in this pic that compliments the hood? Like to find some OEM-shape carbon fiber pieces to replace the flat black rear spoiler as well. Thanks in advance.

John, I have stock spoiler with wicker bill I added. I bought it from 6LE designs which has a terrible rep and is now out of business. They sold their line of products to MAGG performance, I am not sure of their rep but here is the link for the wicker bill spoiler https://maggperformance.com/product/...-style-add-on/. It came with no instructions, I made a template of the spoiler and used it to mark the location of holes and used threaded riv nuts to install.
