It may well be covered under a comprehensive claim. I'd think twice about doing that unless the cost is exorbitant, as the insurance company might be happy to get it back from you via premium increases over the next few years.

A full service mechanic shop should be able to perform that repair. Check around your area to see who is well trusted.

It sounds like TastyBake is pretty talented. If the animals did not chew the wires in the areas protected by the split plastic shielding, he will just have to worry about the terminations at the connectors. Usually the pins in the connectors can be extracted with jeweler's screwdrivers or the like. then you open them and recrimp or solder and heat shrink it. Yes, some bridge wires will be needed.

While this sounds like a lot of work and may be a pain in the butt working under the car, the alternative is trusting this to a mechanic who is going to want to pull the whole harness.

it is hard to see from the photos how bad this all is. But it sounds like he has a running car, so my guess is only a few wires. Check ebay for the oxygen sensor, which will come with a wire attached. You may need an O2 sensor socket. Amazon or ebay for that.
