Debating if I should do this. I had the shudder after the converter replacement, I only have it in V4 mode.
I’m happy to see progress on this. It’s bullshit that we all have to deal with it.

I'd be down if it amounts to anything. I'm not going to sign up if the suit get's millions and I get a check for $19.28

Exactly, you'd be giving up your right to sue independently if you join the class action. My hope is that this forces GM into developing a permanent solution.

I'm down either way. I will be a pain in their ass till 2023 or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I'm already out of the 3yr/36,000mile bumper-bumper warranty and by mid-2019 everyone else with 2016 will be too. The only warranty I have left is the 100,100 mile corrosion warranty till 2022
The transmission should still be covered under the 5 year / 60,000 mile powertrain warranty after the bumper-to-bumper warranty expires.

This issue impacts the 2nd hand market as well. Also, what about people who made modifications to their vehicle and now their warranty is void or had their claims denied?

it is pretty bad when you think about it. Basically every A8 transmission used since 2015 in the Corvette, Camaro, CTS, ATS, Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon (what am I missing) has been reported to have wide spread issues with the torque converter. So again...no surprise here. I've been affected personally by the shudder and have had my fluid flushed, although it has never gotten as bad as some of the stories I've read here and I'm generally happy with my Camaro.

That said, for anyone that reads this thread that does not already know, GM has stated to dealers that there is going to be a new (and hopefully more permanent) FIX coming in Q1 2019!
She mentioned this. It was supposed to be released the beginning of this month to the dealerships for training but still no information. At least, from my own sources, nothing has been heard of it yet at Dealerships.

Yes it does. She mentioned that we could be get paid up to around $15,000 for depreciation of the cars due to this. She said the most money would go to people who bought new because they will loose the most money due to this.

While GM absolutely needs to stand behind their product and fix the A8 issues.. it's funny to see a lawfirm pretending that they are going after GM because it's the right thing to do.

They are doing it for the money.. that's all.

But I do hope GM feels pain over the A8 BS.

Transmission would be covered by the powertrain warranty, not the bumper to bumper.

The problem is we don't really know exactly what % of A8 cars have had the issue, yes there are reported cases of it across pretty much every model that has the A8 so it's safe to say that it's a pretty large # (I myself am suffering from it in my Colorado ZR2).

With that said I have it on good authority that the new fix that's incoming is a pretty radical one and that's why they have been holding off and taking their time to push it out, presumably they've been testing it extensively and want to finally get this shit taken car of since nothing they have tried so far has worked.

I for one am expecting this to potentially escalate from a TSB to a RECALL, but who knows I just hope that get it fixed. I love my ZR2 and really don't want to get caught up in a legal battle with GM, just fix the issue and let me get back to fully enjoying my truck.
I really hope your right. I went to look at a gorgeous 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 and all was perfect till I hit the highway. Felt like I was driving on a gravel road at any speed over 50mph.

That being said I really hope this is an issues because I love the late model Silverado's and would love to bring one home but not until this gets sorted out. 1 A8 car is enough to take care of, I don't need a second until the new permanent fix is out.

They assumed that risk the moment they modified their car.

Oh of course they want the money lol. How do you think Law-Firms stay in business? But if they can get me anything out of it I'm down lol.

This guy gets it.

Though I don't agree with the last bit, it's not like they intentionally made a faulty part lol would have saved them a SHIT LOAD of money if they made them right the first time.
