I have no problem with Engine on the 6th gen, this is info from my dialings with dealers, as for the blue car that's a long and legal mater, other then that all is good.

I didn't hear back from the dealership until around 1:00PM today after I called Chevrolet Customer Service. Then all of a sudden every one from the GM to the Service Manager was blowing up my phone and a loaner Malibu magically appeared. Had a long talk with the service manager. All they know is the engine is locked up. They can't figure out where the oil went as there are no leaks, why no low oil light came on, and when you start it the oil pressure shows 40 psi. They said they have to break the engine down to see where it failed. And decide if they can fixed what is broken or give me a new engine. This is a true mystery
Hello sonnydurden,

We’re glad to hear you’re in good hands at the dealership, and that you were provided a courtesy vehicle, though we understand how upsetting your engine concern may be. If you would like us to take a closer look at your case, please feel free to send us a private message with your VIN or case number.

Dealer called this morning. Bad O-Rings caused the oil to burn up that cause the engine failure. But I wasn't experiencing any smoke out the back. The most concerning issue to the techs/engineers is the fact that the oil pressure gauge shows good and no low light was triggered. Even bone dry. They stated those sensors will be replaced as well. Just give me the old fashion 4 pack gauges. Don't trust this animated/digital sh*t!! Also, to be fair, the dealership had a bad phone number on me. That's why they weren't calling me back.

That is concerning. A simultaneous failure of three components without normal symptoms of a problem, without the ability to spot the problem before the engine self destructs. Let's hope your situation is an isolated event. Thanks for updating. Is it a software problem, or a sensor problem? Rings failing? I wonder how many cars have that same series of rings or if it was causes by a problem in the oiling system.

This is part of the reason why I just ordered a bluetooth OBD2 plug-in and will be running Dash Commander. Hopefully it helps keep any eye on things so I can spot a problem before it materializes.

Technically you can still be low on oil and have good oil pressure. I think the bottom of the dipstick still means you have 5.5 qts of oil in the LT1.
