I brought mine in and they tried to tuck it back under and add a retention clip. Pulled back out in 2 days. Took it back in and they ordered a brand new seat cover and installed that with some extra clips. It's been fine since. I think, as already mentioned, the factory seat covers are cut too short and not installed with enough retention clips. It's either that or the way the install the seat covers at the OEM. Either way, your service center can fix it by installing a new seat cover with extra clips.

Glad to hear the dealerships are fixing this issue under warranty. I just noticed it on mine while cleaning it. I had JUST gotten home from picking it up from an overnight stay at the dealer to install parta to fix the fan connector recall amd apparently a rear toe link defect. Now I gotta deal with this?! Man, these little naggy issues are a pain in the ass. Never had any issues with my 2014 aside from the stupid bladekey recall and MyLink locking up but the latter is more to do with Apple screwing with iOS. CarPlay fixed that. But these new model bugs need to stop already.

I just wanted to post to confirm mine is having the same issue. I also noticed there is some gouging on my shifter, almost looks like grooves from pliers. I'll get some pictures later today. You can see the foam and seat latch mechanism under the cover.

Typical F-Body issues, but at least the interior overall is light years ahead of my 4th gens!

not in the 5th gen, so they went back in time to a bad design, does it always have to be 2 steps forward and then 3 steps back, if it works why do we have to brake it this way.

I just looked at mine with 320 miles on the odometer and this is starting to happen. I'm going to wait until it's almost out of warranty probably (unless it gets much worse)but I'll take a photo now for documentation.

Can Confirm this is also happening on ss models with color option interiors. I have white seats and it also pulling out right there at the seat forward Handel. It does not annoy me enough to even mention it to the dealer tho

Unless they redesigned the cover, from what I see it will just continue to happen. The cut out around the lever should (in a decent design) have a plastic buffer or retaining ring that the cover is sewn to and fits around the lever housing.

Without that to distribute tension and secure it to around the lever, it's going to pull out and eventually tear.

I rarely lean my seat backs forward, except to clean the back. Are those of you having this problem using the levers a lot or might this be caused just by merely sitting in the seats?

Getting in and out cause it. I don't use the seat lever. What happens is you get in the car pulling the cover down, you are pulling that cover down sitting in it, scooting around, or getting out.

I'm not a big guy, but I guess 200lb is rough on these seats.

I too have the same issues with about 280 miles, except I am on day four of ownership, sad. I like many of the things about this car but coming from a 2013 Mustang GT Convertible, the build quality of the Mustang was much better. You should see the globs of "poop" that were painted over in the corners under the trunk lid area, sad.
Not to mention, the floor carpet is also coming out from under the molding, that was cut short too!

Just got back from the dealer about this. I can confirm they'll do a warranty replacement of the entire seat cover.

After reading through this thread I finally remembered to check mine today and luckily everything was still good. I'll have to keep an eye on it now to make sure that it doesn't start coming apart.

About 8k miles. I'm around 243 lbs if that makes a difference.

Dealer replaced

Took mine to the dealer and he replaced both seat backs with no questions asked.

I asked him if the new ones will do the same thing, but he said they are revised to not pull away from the seat latch cover.
