I noticed mine fogging up at exactly the same time.. Sales guy was pairing up my wife's phone and showing her all the gadgets...after 15 mins of idling with with the AC on, there was two 8" circles of fog formed on the glass... Big enough I noticed it but didn't think much about it since the car door was open..

Well I guess I'm glad to know other cars are doing it as well.. Probably a design or assembly flaw in the hvac/defrost system.... Still sucks and is annoying.

Keep me posted as to what they find on yours if anything.

After reading this thread I took the car for a 20 mile spin it's warm and humid. Tried the different ac recirculating settings on and off still doing it. Minor annoyance considering how fun of a ride that just was. I have had this and what looks like a flaw in the driver door under the door handle. It looks like a crease or indentation. So far I'll take a couple of minor issues considering everything else is performing nicely.

This actually sounds like something easily fixable if GM would issue an SPS update. I would complain to the dealer and maybe a fix will (eventually) be issued. I don't know what module controls this but the firmware versions do evolve as the model ages.

I would guess it's BCM based on the gen5:

Recirculating has NOTHING to do with this issue, it's condensing water on the EXTERIOR part of the windshield. Try switching off auto by selecting just the dash vents. In auto mode it moves air through all the ports even though the primary vents are the dash when it's cooling. Selecting the dash vents directly should close the defrost and floor vents.

You can take it to the dealer but you're wasting your time, it's normal.

I hope there is a fix. It is irritating to have to periodically use your wipers in the summer. I have lived here 30 years and have never had any other vehicle do this.

I also experienced this fogging with the AC coming home from the airport last night via 130. Not a good thing to be tinkering with at 80+ MPH! I wonder if there is something we can apply to the inside windshield?

Really easy fix for this issue.

https://www.rainx.com/product/glass-.../#.V0m2opErKUk

I have Air90 windshield tint and no fogging with it either. It is pretty humid here, not as bad as Houston area where the walls cry but my truck / malibu does fog up if I don't apply anything to it.

AC does dehumidify but you have to give it some chance to exhaust the damp air. Recirc just keeps it in the car. Your breath is very moisture laden.
the interior moisture is collected on the evaporator coil and drained that way. it does not exhaust moist air. ALL air conditioning works this way

Fogging windshield

Mine fogs up regardless if I use auto ot not or recirculate it or not. Going to try some rain x anti-fog next.

it IS designed to send a small amount of air to the defroster vents. Nothing you can do to stop, you cant class action sue them, they WANT it to do that.
