Tire tramlining happens all the time on my Gen5 1LE. Also have the same thing on my prior Corvettes. Folks coming out of typical Hondas and Toyotas are not used to how the 275 width tires and performance suspension behave. You are supposed to feel just about everything on the road and it has it's pros and cons. If you want to handle like you are on rails then you just accept some the random tug to the left or right as you deal with the imperfections on the road.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, never knew it was called tram lining. Some roads are worse than others, I am in south Florida so our roads are generally in pretty good shape but I do have one near me that is just awful for making my car pull all over.

This tends to happen more On roads that see heavy truck traffic. weight causes two "Groves" with a hump in the middle. A sensitive car will be all over the place on roads like that.

I'm having the same exact issue... I'm not sure if I can call it an issue due to the fair that the tires are not only big, but they are run flats, and high performance tires at the same time.

I kinda think it may be the tired too. Everyone says run flats aren't the greatest.

To be fair I think I'm experiencing a different thing than trammeling. My GTO had 245/275 and it never tracked like the Camaro does on certain days. I feel like mine is a thing with the steering.

Here's my take:
I've got a 2013 RS, when I test drove it with 6,500 miles I felt the pull. Didn't think much of it at the time. 24,000 miles later it's still there. Sometimes it pulls left, sometimes right. Hmmmmmmm. Initially thought it was gonna be a caliper issue but after reading this thread I know that's not the case. So, anybody figure this s**t out yet? Only happens at low speeds for me, usually when braking, but braking does not cause it. |

It's the tires following the grooves or uneven surfaces in the road, most likely. Put 285 up front and it almost pulls the wheel out of your hands if you aren't holding on tight.

I don't think it's the tires. It happens on perfectly smooth roads. I've never heard of tires doing this on any other car. It has to be something else...

I used to be Dragoneye...

I put 245 winter tires on the car from Nov. to April...then 285 G:2s from April to Nov in the summer. There is a substantial difference in the amount of pull left and right...and it doesn't need to be an obviously bumpy road to do it. There are imperfections in every road that we won't necessarily feel in the suspension as a "bump".
It could be a crest or crown in the road, too. In the right lanes, the car wants to drift right, and in the left lane the car wants to drift left... An alignment could be the problem - perhaps the toe setting is out of whack...a little bit of positive degree toe in will stabilize the car's steering response...a bit of toe out will increase the response, but also add some instability to the feel. Also - check your driving modes in the DIC. The steering rack is electronic...a real stellar unit, too...but the computer will adjust how much assistance and feeling your getting depending on the driving mode. IMO, I noticed that a performance driving mode was a little more direct....translating every road imperfection up to the steering wheel. Other than that....it certainly doesn't sound normal. If it's repeatable, perhaps a dealerhship visit is in order? |

Having a simmilar issue I think made a post aswell for the dealers diagnosis
I did notice when I changed settings from tour and sport on the radio while driving it went away but dealer just brushed that idea off so try that when it wants to pull and see if it goes away |
