22 Camaro 3LT

Hi,

I ordered a 22 Camaro 3LT V6 last month, after talking to GM yesterday, I am at 1100 status. Trying to decide if I should possibly change to Turbo4 or a 2SS? I don't really need the V8 power so leaning to the Turbo4. I am wondering if any change would help improve the timing of the build? Any constraint updates?

Welcome to the "I ordered a V6 but dont like what Im seeing or hearing" club, LOL. The last report was that the V6 was on constraint and it went from a end date of 11/14 to TBD last I checked. IMO, seeing TBD attached to anything is NOT good. I myself am ready to switch to the Turbo-4 and have reworked my order. Not waiting forever & the T4 is a good mill anyways. I cant do the V8 nor do I really want one. Chances are certainly higher that you'll get an order accepted and built if you choose the I4 Turbo as they are not on any constraint that I know of.

I sent my latest new build(Vivid orange, black stripes & wheels, I4 Turbo) to a new dealer since the one I originally went with doesnt seem interested in my car or my order. Ill see if I hear back from the new place or if they get an allocation. This is just crazy. Good luck and let me know what you do and if you hear anything!

Yea, the V6 constraint is just not reliable at this time, could be next month...could be next spring

If all the convenience of 3LT is your only thing, swapping to the I4 may not be a bad idea at this time, otherwise the SS is obviously more power keeping what you're looking for in the 3LT.

Next trick is finding a dealer willing to order it. You could always reach out to Joe on here who can order and either ship it to you or since you're in Ohio it wouldn't be a bad drive to pick it up from him here in SE Michigan.

Yeah - Im done worrying about the V6. Fuhgettaboutit.

Bolded statement is a big part of this. Someone correct me if Im wrong here but if a dealer gets one or two allocations and has more orders than that, its clearly obvious that they are going to "use" the allocation on the $70,000 Camaro and not the $28,000 ones. Im SURE they arent using a first-in, first-ordered method, LOL. Why would they? The juicy, heavily-optioned cars always bubble to the top of the order list. I get it. I do. But its going to cost them customers. Such is life.

Yep - Joe seems to be a great option. Im waiting on a call from another semi-local dealer to se what they can do but like some other people here I may just have to do the "Joe" thing and have the car shipped or drive it home.

I would go out on the limb and say that I'm pretty sure in my working with Joe that he's got his orders and allocations on the first in first out method.

The 3LT and 2SS are also on constraint - believed to be related to some of the safety features or other components common to the top trim lines.

Oh I believe it - out of the 4-5 local dealers Ive worked with or tried to work with, Joe is(he's out of state for me) the only one that doesnt seem like hes making up things or trying to sugar coat them either.

My patience for all of this is wearing very thin. This isnt how this is supposed to be. Its a Camaro for chrissakes. They arent the only game in town. I dunno. I had high hopes back in early August when I ordered but now the interest level is tanking.

I considered other cars but what I could be interested has manufacturing and delivery problems, too. I can wait. Patience isn't one of my virtues, I just started things thinking that I'm not even going to ask about it for 3-4 months. And it's fall and winter anyway.

Information in this thread is helpful for sure. Does suck to see so many of us experiencing the same problems. At least we have a place we all can come and check in on things - Kind of like a Camaro Order support group lol
