This is true. I went from the nice ZF 8spd in my BMW to the manual 1LE, because I wanted to go back to shifting gears and have a greater connection with the car. There are good auto trans, especially at the higher end, but you usually pay for those autos too. That's the balance point, getting a decent auto at a decent pricepoint. I got the 1LE because it's probably one of the last great manual cars.

Unless there is actually some sort of performance improvement with the 19' 1LE I would say go used market just cuz you are talking about close to $10k cheaper relatively speaking

It's not that there can't be pleasure. GM wants the 1LE to be a purists car. It's made for those folks that love rowing through the gears.

Soft beards don't deserve a car like the 1LE.
You mean nannies like rev match, no lift shift, hill assist. Not very purist if you ask me. Oh and 5 different PTM mods.

I will probably get an 18' 1LE if the prices do come down at the end of this year.

if you people want an automatic just get a new ss with the A10, get mag ride and get the 1le shock tune added. done

Oh lets not forget the a10 in the ss in NOT the same a10 in the zl1.

It's also NOT much different. Just the power rating which only comes into play when modding.

correct. I was just making sure people who want the a10 realize its not exactly the same as the zl1

With the exception of hill start, these nannies are all meant to improve performance, and you don't have to use any of them if you don't want to.

Some will argue an automatic will improve performance also. If you're a true "purist" you wouldn't need rev match, no lift, and any performance modes, and most certainly don't need a vinyl sticker on a painted hood.

90% of the owners of the 1LE will never track the car, they just want the status of a track car to drive to and from work or the store. There is nothing wrong with that, but there is no need making the 1LE into something magical it's not.

I'm one of the 90% who will never go on a track, but I will never go to the store either.
You ever see how people drive in a store parking lot?

I don't care about status, or I would have gotten a Corvette, I just wanted the most performance for the dollar, and not just straight line.

And to me the 1LE is magical.
