I am interested in knowing more what that actually does do, I read the benefits, but.. you know, like why is it better other than highly machined.

Oh and by the way, I turned up to warp 6/6 on the RS today. I didn't do any crazy stuff other than leave the traffic behind on the on ramp. Huge pull.
With the drop in K&N you can really hear the turbo. I'm like with all the air flow already, how much more can she take captain? I am wondering if the stock components are up to the task in the long run. Time will tell I guess, but fortunately there's a tune down option here. You are going to love this tuning. |

The BOL? The stock recirculating valve is a cheap piece of plastic that leaks boosted air. The aftermarket valve has a tight seal and, theoretically, should let you see an increase in 1-3 psi boost, as well as a wider range of boost (shouldnt drop off as hard after 5000 rpm).

Last I noticed was they are making a tuned and non-tuned version. But its still being milled on the edge of throwing a cel for the non-tuners. I would be interested in even just the turbo "conditioning" without a significant increase in psi-hp. I read 1 PSI can equate to as much as 10+ hp under peak conditions. I mean the prospect of $500 to quiet a CEL is just too much. Or even pitching the $200 in credits if I knew someone nearby who who offer to do it, plus whatever they would charge. Not a buyer yet until we get road tests. From 2020 on its got to be a plug and play product. Thus the Race-chip. Probably by the end of warranty I am not ruling out tinkering on the ECU. But then again I'm not ruling out a CARB compliant LS1 drop in either when the ltg gets tired, lol.

Since I got asked somewhere else, I'll just also post it here.
There are two ways how the intake pressure sensor can be disconnected. Option 1: Push the blue retaining clip to the side. Then press the button and disconnect the plug. |

Option 2:
Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently push it in the gap and gently push it to the outside. This will remove the locking clip, so the plug can be disconnected. Please be careful to not damage anything. |

After over 3 months of waiting, my RaceChip GTS is coming back to me. Should have it in hand this Wednesday or Thursday. Updated firmware and software, with additional testing time. Hopefully the knock that i got up around 4500-5000 rpm is gone and we're good to go.
This week I plan to install my ZZP catted DP and the RaceChip, as well as throw in a K&N drop-in filter. Then...some 0-60 runs. |

cool. I sent them a inquiry about how they worded the remote modding feature in bluetooth. on the website, they make it sound so much like they would be able to deliver a dial in remotely. Im talking about the gts with app. keep us posted.

My dad has a GTS for his Genesis G80. It has the bluetooth app-control feature and RaceChip has made updates through the app. I'm assuming it would remain the same here. When I first got the GTS, it did not have the Bluetooth availability. Now it does, supposedly, and my new unit will be updated with it. Will let you know how it goes.

All sounds like a lot of trouble for something the can cause masked issues later on.

...from what i can see here, the RC community have pretty mild mods that are well known to be very much tested and low risk. we RC users are making a very educated and decided choice to use this tech and not ECU tune for very legit reasons. From my viewpoint external ecus are actually very common (in high level aftermarket) and an accepted tech outside of this very small, and getting more myopic everyday, user community. It would be nice to share in our passion for the car without being made to feel like idiots. Its probably my 2 degrees one being in electrical engineering, that makes me a dull boy I guess.
