Car oil and coolant temp high

So I was at NJMP on Wednesday and didn't go as expected. 1st session after about 15 minutes I got a pop-up on dash saying oil temp high. No CEL nothing just pitted in and let cool down. 2nd session 15 min in pop-up trans hot leave car at idle so pitted in.

Forgot to mention car has a JRE 125 package . Called my tuner and he said take it so they can check to see what's wrong but I'm about 2.5 hrs away.

Anyone know what it could be? I'm thinking it's a bad thermostat. Car has a stant 15638 180⁰ thermostat.

125 package is 20% more power, so 20% more heat, but does nothing for the cooling system. Peak temp at NJMP was 90F this past Wednesday the 14th. A 180 thermostat opening earlier only buys you time, it doesn't add any more cooling. The cooling system can only reject so much heat, and it's likely maxed out around 95F stock on a track. So you were likely well past the car's capabilities.

But for the sake of our fellow internet mechanics, can you answer the following questions:

What did your dash performance menu gauges say?
Oil temp?
Water temp?
Oil Pressure?
Trans temp?

Did you put an OBD2 reader on it and get live telemetry from the ECU? What did it say?

Did your dummy coolant gauge read high? Really you need to connect hp Tuners to it and check it. I also don’t trust any Thermostats besides stock or Katech. Also, it was like 95 yesterday

Are your headers ceramic coated or uncoated? Ceramic coating reduces heat tremendously.

I recommend the 174° Katech T-stat over anything based on having a failure of a JET 180°. I also updated desired ECT, mech thermostat, and desired % control in HP tuners to match the tstat. I'm at 91% fan by 208°F (100% beyond that) as where stock hits 92% desired fan at 237°F.

Did you remove the water separator in the cowl? I've converted my IC loop over to distilled water w/water wetter and that has helped about 10°+ on MAT.

I was going to order a 174⁰ katech thermostat and the bypass wasn't sure if had to tweak the tune.

Just placed order from Katech. Tell me more about the water separator?

I believe he is referring to the plastic piece bolted under the hood that protects the ZL1 engine from rain. At the track you should remove it for better air flow

Open the hood and take out the plastic diverter in the hood, flows ALOT more hot air out of engine bay. It is like 4 bolts and it slides out.

Manual says to remove this when you are racing!
